I-State favored in informal DMRegister survey...

Sorry if this is old news, and wasting time, but it looks like the I-State logo won. Works for me. I think it was the most original logo of the bunch, and will help define an image for our program. Now lets hope that said image is won of a strong football team...

Re: I-State it is...
I too want to see the I-State win, but I think the Register's "research" consisted of asking a few fans in the tailgating lot on Thursday, and is in no way related to the real balloting. We'll see though!

Re: I-State it is...
You got me excited there for a second, but it was the same article that was in the print version. That is the best of the logos, but they need to change the overall uniform if they are going to pull off a white helmet.

I don't know how many times I've been asked here in NW Arkansas how the logo associates with the Cyclones. If I had any say in it I think we need some kind of 'twister' logo on the helmets but since that's not an option then I will go with the I State as I have yet to see any other "I" team using it. If Chizik is successful then hopefully this logo will become easily recognizable on a national basis.

That may be true... but I'd still rather see us recognized for something "Cyclone" related...

Re: I-State favored in informal DMRegister survey...
I-State is not going to make our program more noticable than the swirleybird. Those of you who want to make a change for that reason alone are insane.
In the end our national recognition is going to be based on wins/losses. Im sure there are alot of people outside of Iowa who don't know what our logo is, but I would guess a very strong majority of college football fans across the country could pick out our logo if they saw it. My point is, you should like a logo because it looks good and represents your team, not because its easy to remember, more simplistic, more original, etc.. Green and pink jerseys with a large I on the helmet would make us one of the most nationally recognizable teams in the nation, but is that really a valid reason to wear them?

The I State logo will definitely be easier to copy. My motorhome is non-metallic so to have a logo it needs to be painted. The I State logo will definitely be easier to paint.

I State could still sound like Indiana State.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

I showed my brother-in-law (a big Hawk homer) the new helmets and he thought all three were ridiculous. He likes our current helmets and couldn't understand why we were taking Cy off the helmets.
