Re: DMB to play a concert at your school

Put me in the "wish there was a way to vote against this" category. One time I downloaded a whole crapload of DMB just to give it a chance because I thought "Hey, all their songs can't be as bad as their ones on the radio can they?" Unfortunately they sure as heck can be.

Re: DMB to play a concert at your school

Let's see - what did Johnny Chang (name?) say about what DMB songs sound like?

(in a really annoying Dave Matthews-like voice
    "...Ring ding dong dee dong,
That's how a pinball machine sounds,
When the ball is bouncing 'round,
    Ring ding dong EEEHHHH!"
Chuck Lidell: I paint my toenails with pink and black polish. Problem is, I get more paint on my toes and on the carpet than on my nails. Any advice?
Maria Sharapova: Don't you beat up other guys for a living? I don't know how to answer this.

Re: DMB to play a concert at your school

All I know is I saw DMB at Hilton a few years back when I went to school there and it was absolutely, hands down, to this day the best concert I have been to. And I was not a fan of DMB at the time either. I am for sure going to this one if I can get tickets!!!!!

Re: DMB to play a concert at your school

Some people might not like Dave Matthews, but we have a chance to basically win a concert for Iowa State. Whether you like them or not, it would still be a victory over some of the other schools if Iowa State was the winner. Just another opportunity to show that Cyclone Fanatics rule online.

I don't know why you would vote against it. Nobody would be forcing you to go to the concert, and there are lots of students here that would enjoy it.

I'm not the biggest DMB fan. But I'm sure there are plenty of fans out there.
Wasn't DMB bus that dropped crap - literally- on a boat load of people as the bus went over a bridge?

I'm with you guys. And I'm not a "new" Dave-hater - I remember when "Ants Marching" came out (which wasn't bad), and then everything else that came out by them sounded exactly the same. This is also why I hate on Sheryl Crow. That being said - hey, publicity for ISU!

That Mog site is really cool, isucyfan! I use something really similar at last.fm - here is MY SITE. I know we've compared music notes before.

Re: DMB to play a concert at your school

    Is everybody/anybody still doing this?

Even if I didn't love this band, I'd still vote for them like crazy. This is an actual possession we, IOWA STATE UNIVERSITY, will be receiving, unlike the crappy pat-on-the-back Cy got from CBS, those ungrateful b%#(^&@!!! I'm guessing the haters have no idea what one of these concerts is like.....they're really not concerts, more like giant celebrations. And if we won this thing, it would not be in Hilton. This would not be your average concert. We're talking a mega-central campus (or JTS/tailgating) festival the likes of which veishea couldn't touch. You'd probably have people flying in from everywhere if they knew they could get in for free. And if by chance you actually don't like what you'd be hearing, buy earplugs.....cause the people watching would be none like you'll ever see this side of New Orleans. This would be something ISU would be proud of and mention in those student visit brochures for decades.

We're in second place behind Army @ West Point. Get 'er done!

We just passed the military academy. For those interested, keep it up, an outdoor Dave concert is an incredible experience. Besides, we know how to throw one hell of a riot, why would he want to go anywhere else

Now this is how this could relate to FOOTBALL.......
KUsports.com Message Boards: Dave Matthews Band Concert Before ISU Game?

I could see the same thing happening here in our last game of the year against CU if we won.
