Former Players You Most Wished Had Been Cyclones?
I am watching the Colts game and just saw a big grab by Dallas Clark and got to thinking who is the Iowa High School player (recent era) that I wished had worn the Cardinal & Gold colors?
Guys that came to mind were the obvious ones like Kurt Warner - who would be great, but he is more known for AFL & HyVee than college. Robert Gallery came to mind, but don't really care to be associated with biggest draft busts every draft day.
That brought me back to one Dallas Clark. While he would have played at ISU in an era that didn't really have a tight end, he is an alumn I would be proud to have. (the episode at high school basketball game last winter not withstanding).
What Iowa high school player would you rewind the clock to have put on the Cyclone colors?

Hate to say it, but a couple of hawks come to mind.
Tim Dwight probably tops the list. Tavian Banks is another.
Scratch that with Dwight - I'd still want him on the team.
But easily in the past 5 years my number one would be Nate Kaeding.
2 time Big 12 North champs with that leg.

Rumor has it that at one time Barry Sanders was a verbal commit to ISU. Seeing him in cardinal and gold wouldn't have sucked
Even if he wasn't from Iowa

Roger Craig and Chuck Long would have been good.

Long wasn't from Iowa. Craig was davenport memory serves me right. Kaeding is a good pick too. He would have impacted our wins & losses.

2 time Big 12 North champs with that leg. I would not have said Kaeding until I read this post, but now have to agree 100%. 2 time Big 12 north champs and definitely at least 3-5 more wins that would have gotten us to better bowls then we ended up........like Boise tundra bowl on the headache creating electric blue field.. -

Don't like the hawks either, but there have been some Iowa kids who made unfortunate college choices....likely under the influence of substances or blackmailed or just misinformed, but they still would have made great Cyclones and impacted our program. Won't cut of my nose to spite my face. (note I also didn't say hawks, the kid you want could have gone to college anywhere)

Re: Former Players You Most Wished Had Been Cyclones?
While I was in school I once had a conversation with a player on the team at the same time as Dallas's older brother Derrick Clark. Derrick was a big time middle linebacker and a captain at one point his Jr year at ISU. Whoever was installed as the linebackers coach (possibly Def coordinater?) when McCarney took over clashed BIG time with Derrick, so much so that he went from captain and starting linebacker to rarely used at all his Sr year at State. Up to that point Dallas had been a lock at ISU, after it older brother told him to look elsewhere.
