Of course they should. But has Meyers accuracy been good enough to do this? I think Meyer questions himself every time he touches the ball. A QB cant do that. That hesitation makes it impossible to take a chance with throwing it into traffic.
That is fine. bot the cryin out loud then put in another QB!!!!!! I don't care if Meyer has been here for 4 years.
I am not saying that a player can't make a mistake. It is just when it happens over and over again. They need to find a way to correct the problem or put somebody in that will produce. This is a multi million dollar business. Maybe I am being to critical. Just the game last night wasn't very impressive and it mirrored a lot of things from last year.
I don't buy the "new system" argument. If this is a new system, why do I see the same plays as last season? Have we not even tried this "new system" yet? If so, why not? I thought we were going to run a spread offense? I thought that is what McFarland brought to the table. I still see the QB draw on 1st down as the most popular play. There aren't enough short passing plays. We aren't throwing to the RB or HB enough as a design play. When we do, it is part of a dump off check down of receivers. And the TE should have more catches than he does.
If we were doing some of these things, then I would believe there is a new system. I don't see it. So if we aren't using a new system yet, what is difficult about learning the same plays we have always used?

are you kidding me? we ran more screens last game then we ever did in one game last year and we were perfecting them. 5, 6, 7 yards a pop on first or second down will make me happy
I asked the question before, since I haven't been able to watch either game. Did they throw it in the direction of Blythe often into interceptions and/or broken plays? Did Blythe drop the ball at any point?
Anytime Meyer is flushed he is no threat to pass on the run. He becomes very predictable for the opposing defense. Once he takes off that is it. This is what hasn't changed from last year.

I'm only listening to the games so I don't know exactly what is taking place. Are these screen passes design plays or is it Bret dumping the ball to his RB when the pass protection breaks down? When I was listening to walters call it, it sounded like he was just dumping the ball.
So lets assume we are running more screen passes. That is certainly a change because we just couldn't do it before.
What else is new in this "system". I want to understand what it is that is so difficult to learn?
