You cannot expect a big 10 shill to be any other way.

The Game Stats (and keeler)
I think the stats of the game show that we played better. Take away the fumbled punt and we may have actually won the game. Additionally, if Ace intercepts that pass, who knows. I think the game was closer than the score and thats my big argument with keeler.

Re: The Game Stats (and keeler)
dmcy, that is exactly what I have been saying. It is plays like those that make an average team bad. Those are correctable mistakes, however. UNI is the better team and deserves all the credit, but we certainly didn't help ourselves with unforced errors (missed FG, dropped INT, snap over QB's head). I know I will get ripped for sounding like a Hawk fan but those are truly things that only we can control.

Re: The Game Stats (and keeler)
Just like the interception against Kent St. that was returned to the 5 or so yard line. Take that away, and a fg or more of our own, totally different. Just a few mistakes that turn the game around. The season isnt over yet, people dont need to go jumping off bridges, although i wouldnt mind if some of the fairweathered fans did jump.

Re: Keeler's column in the Rag.
I called the rag and left my opinion for the sports editor and in Keeler's box... I propose a message box flooding by Cyclone fanatics similar to online poll voting... Please consider calling both the sports editor and Keeler's boxes and express your feelings.
Let's be heard ! As published in the Des Moines Register: BRYCE MILLER- Executive Sports Editor

Re: Keeler's column in the Rag.
Simple solution to this is to win a game...until then all bets are off on the DM Register, and we'll just have to tough it out.

Re: The Game Stats (and keeler)
I was looking at the drive charts for the first 2 games and of our 23 drives (that did not end a half) 7 ended by turnover and 3 by missed FG - that is almost half of our posessions! If we stop turnovers (something we can control) who knows what happens.
Turnovers make things look worse then they really are - I agree we need a lot of improvement and may not win any games this year because we could improve every game but the competition keeps getting tougher.
Going to the games sure beats listening to the radio - I did that for years and that sucks!

Don't call and complain - call and cancel your subscription. I did a couple of months ago and have not regreted it at all. -

He just blew any other chances to write another article about ISU football. What else could he possibly write? This story is over, just ask him. Anything positive about ISU football this year will make him look uh let's say unprofessional, lazy, write the easy story, type of journalist. His next ISU football article must start with an admission that he was wrong, and he shouldn't jump to uneducated conclusions.

Re: The Game Stats (and keeler)
Kinda fun looking at the glass half full, AND being realistic. It would be even more fun to beat the hawks by playing error free ball.

Re: The Game Stats (and keeler)
In an effort not to sound like a Suckeye, Kent State and UNI are better teams. ISU has the POTENTIAL to be a much better team than it is, though.

Re: The Game Stats (and keeler)
I really think we are better passing than running due to the size of our oline. Bet everyon wishes Koch was back again. We are not feeding those oline boys enough steaks and cobs.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Plaster Keeler---
with rotton tomatoes. I won't be at the game next week, but I have a great suggestion. Someone needs to get a large plywood backed picture of Keeler, set it up in the tailgate area next week, and sell large, very ripe, tomatoes to anyone who wants to plant one in his face. Proceedes could go to the Gridiron Club.

Lay off Keeler
I share everyone's feeling about DM Reg's Keeler, but bombing him is the WRONG strategy here. The Register is well aware of the power of Iowa State, and they will throttle him in, believe me, but for us to create a monster there is not in Iowa State's best interest. Invite him to your tailgate if you want to email him. But let's not overreact to a column that states the obvious. I State has not looked good so far, but that will change.
