Re: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly...
I dont think that they are making comments against the coaches person, just against their former ways, with McFarland anyway... I dont think it is a secret to anyone that Chizik is being fierce, and is ****** off. He should be, Now we have to see how the guys respond

Re: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly...
I think while everyone likes hearing this stuff to post it on the web causes problems for the team who talked to you. Unless they told you that you could writeup what they said and put it out there, I think you have to use common sense and know that alot of what was said can cause more problems for them then they already have. Can you honestly say that these guys would be happy meeting you again after seeing this post? Whether or not something is accurate out there is another issue, to make comments on a players preception of a coach or teammate is just causing issues. My 2 cents. Players won't talk to anyone, and coaches will be sure that they know they know about it. Think about it.

Re: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly...
You say the oline is too scared to play football. Jeezuz, what is this? A high school team? These guys are on football scholarship. Surely they have it in their character to want to tangle? If not .... oy.

Hey 33
What's your take on what's happening this year? How would you feel about Arnaud taking over? How do you think the team would respond to that?

If the players are pointing fingers at the coaches after two losses who is going to be on this ship ten weeks from now? That is the truth. We don't have the protection (right tackle). The 'two minute' offense wasn't able to work correctly because #99 on the right side of our line was in Meyer's face after 2-3 seconds. That is the root of our winning "problem". It isn't the system right now, it is the lack of a Oline.
We were all correct 2 months before the season. Our OLine was a worry... and now we are proven correct.

I'll bet that when Bates or Arnaud are juniors and whoever the starting qb is that's when the whole system will be in there. It usually takes a couple years to do a complete overhaul. It's too bad Blythe and Ace and some other seniors won't go out on top but just be patient and Chizik will turn this thing around. When things do not go right, this theory is used to explain why they do not pass deep. Bret can throw deep. You have three receivers who can catch deep. The odds are better than running the ball in three yard chunks down the fielkd. Gene and McFarland want to run the ball period. Trouble is we do not have a line quick enoug, strong enough, big enough to run the ball. The line last year was definitely better driving straight ahead. Has anyone in the line been cited for being good yet. At lkeast we had recognition for two of our player sin oline last year. We need to get real and decide we are a passing/deceptive team. IU am tired at watching bass try to dodge four tacklers. The poor guy needs some blocking help from our receivers, and oline. Whe our players are not over 300 pounds, how can we push the defense out of the way. I do not see great oline speed on the wide rights.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -

Are the coaches void of blame? Certainly not. However, they're not the reason we're 0-2.

Re: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly...
I remember LE talking about the struggle of getting players to buy into the coaching staff. He often talked about the need for a team to reach a bottom before they start to buy into the coaches.
This is probably even more of a challenge for the football program when you consider that the majority of this team was recruited by the former coaching staff.
I won't be surprised to see some player turnover at the end of this season for those that aren't willing to buy into the system.

Re: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly...
Thanks for the update, 33. This team seems to be struggling against itself, most of all.
I know that I'm willing to wait for Chizik & Co. to imprint their system on these players.

Re: The Good, The Bad, The Ugly...
33 - there has been talk surfacing that "Blythe could be seen yelling at both the coaching staff and at Meyer during the game". I did not see it personally; can you shed any light on that...

- keep. Personally, I'd like him to watch a few TO or Ocho Cinco highlight films and imitate. I'd like him to say in a manly voice "Throw me the damn ball" instead of in a girly voice, "Well, if it's best for the team not to throw it to me, then I'm not going to complain about it."
Big time receivers want the ball, are vocal about it, and do what it takes to get the ball, including clean route running, blocking, and playing hard on EVERY down. Blythe is a big-time talent that doesn't have the desire or work ethic to be a big-time player.
And yes, I do understand the downside of him imitating TO and having the attitude problems that go with it. But frankly, I'd rather deal with those problems than deal with someone who refuses to bring it on every play.
