Jon Miller Ripping ISU, Sweet Caroline

Laughing at us for playing Sweet Caroline when the players were coming out for the second half Saturday night. Asked why we didn't play Thunder Struck or something that could pump the players up when they came out after the half. I couldn't agree more.

Also said Iowa has NOTHING to gain by playing ISU and everything to lose.

Sweet Caroline is a song that's played at some stadiums across the country because it's a thing that most fans enjoy and can get involved with. I know it's a big deal at Fenway Park.

As far as the second comment by him, it's not a completely off base claim. At least not until we're back to respectability.

Gotta say, Sweet Caroline has to go. Why they decide to play that at the times they have played it the last couple of weeks is beyond me.

Gotta agree with him, that song has no place at a game. Well maybe 30 min before, that would be fine. Or when fans are leaving, I am ok with that.

On this clause, I agree with him, and I believe the converse of this clause to be equally true as well.

There are some FB rivalry games that garner national attention...like UCLA/USC, UT/OU, OU/NU, and bunch of SEC games...just because...who knows why, but they do. The ISU/Iowa FB game is not one of those games. Ultimately, I think both schools would benefit by dumping the series and searching out games with teams from other conferences that would garner a larger TV audience and give greater exposure.

I'd like to see that Pac-10 / Big 12 MBB challenge thing get extended to FB in some way. Lots of people live in Pac-10 land...exposure there can't hurt...
