Today on my show, at 3:05, the Iowa-ISU rivalry will get some heat applied to it.

This latest story in the Gazette, something I talked about in January, just has me worked up...mostly seeing Cyclone fan reaction on the message boards.

I have tried reaching out to them over the past year and a half on the radio, and I have met a lot of great people, people like you and I....they are Iowans, after all.

But their Jihadist Wing, as Deace would say, has just driven me to the point of; I don't care any more. I don't care what those folks think any more, and there is going to be no more throwing bones to those folks. I am writing them off as lost causes, and at 3:05 today, they are going to be ****** off.

I like Jamie, Coach Mac, Coach Fennelly, Coach Sanderson. Don't know Chizik yet. I have several Clone fan friends, and like them to. That won't change.

But the lunatic fringe of Cyclone Nation, I am done with them...and today, I will probably etch my name as one that causes animosity when they think of it from now forward...because I've just had enough of that crowd and trying to play nice....because they are always going to see me as a pompous, arrogant, smarmy Hawkeye fan. Well, I guess its time to embrace it :)

I am assuming he's going to talk about this message board and how we just won't come around to his side. This is a ratings grab for the rest of the week and it is by admission going to be used to just rile up us Cyclone fans. I'm begging my brethren here, don't call in to the show. Don't listen to the show. Don't support the show in any way, shape, or form.

Since I've started this post, he has removed the post from Hawkeyenation.com. Guys, don't get sucked in here, he's pandering to the slobbering idiot Hawk fans and trying to get under our skin. I actually like the Hawks and I wish them well, I have a lot of hawk fan friends and I want football season to be fun for all of us. This sort of crap does nothing but make the rivalry and the game less fun.

I'm suprised even Hawk fans listen to that "show". I'd take 2 more hours of Cotlar over his "show"...and that's saying something.

WOW..... all I can say is ... I am not sure what to say... there are many things running through my head.. none of them mean or anything... basically surprised that he lost it i guess.

He has been embalmed into the WHO sports radio cavern for what..... 1 year? and is already throwing in the towel? I know this isn't his sports cast.. but it is very hard to remove personal feelings from a newscast.

I do think you are ABSOLUTELY correct BryceC... good catch. While I don't listen to his show.... I was hoping he would distance himself from his past.

Looks kinda like Jon let his emotions overcome his good sense. Up until now, I had been fairly impressed with how he handles that. As a public figure, and as the host of a radio show that pretends to be unbiased, that is certainly a nail in the coffin. Hopefully he takes time to mend fences, and hopefully he has a lot of fencing available.

I can't tell you how glad I am to be in Omaha now where I don't have to put up with arrogant, hyprocritical, self-righteous, hawk fans. Yes Jon, that includes you.

I'll take arrogant Husker fans over delusional hawk fans any day of the week.

Big deal. Jon Miller (hawk shill) is going to fan the flames during rivalry week.

What's he going to do? Wow us with his math skills? Is he going to display some more of that Hawk arrogance in trying to control an opponent's ticket prices and policies?

I can't count how many hate threads/posts I've seen for Jon over here. I don't blame him. He's been pretty fair to both teams on his show, especially since he is a Hawkeye fan. He gets blasted for every little thing he says, so why not say stuff worth blasting?

I hear about 5 calls a week from Cyclone fans on his show so I assume a lot of Cyclones fans have moved on already. Deace used to get a ton of Cyclone calls.

I admit that he has tried to give a decent amount of coverage to the Cyclones. It's just the 5% of the time when he jabs the Cyclones that ruins it. If I thought he was just joking it would be OK but I know he's not. It's also been easy for him because the last 2 years we've sucked. If we were spanking the Hawks he wouldn't play so nice.

I don't blame Jon because he's always admitted he's a Hawk fan first. I blame the people that hired him.

I'm not big into talk sports radio shows. They seem to talk forever about nothing. I usually surf the net and magazines for my sports info.

I've heard his show though, and think he's usually been pretty balanced. I can see why some Clone fans wouldn't like listening to him, but he catches a lot of crap from a lot of people even after he tries to be balanced.

This is JMHO.
