Recruits???
Anyone heard anything about the situation we have with the four recruits that were in town - are any expected to be signing anytime soon?
Saw that Ellington was at the Nebraska vs Wake Forest game last week and would have seen a very good representation of Wake Forest - is still planning on a visit this weekend with Sanni???
If we pull off the upset, that could also put us in a position to upset some teams for a few recruits.
Go Clones....

I heard there was going to be a large group in town but didn't hear who.

From what I have heard the response has been very positive. Recruits love Chizik, and he is in a unique position to offer them a chance to play immediately without redshirting. That is his trump card over other schools. Believe it or not, being down like ISU is right now, can work to our advantage. I don't have any other specifics.

I really hope you're right letsgostate.

Re: Recruits???
That is a good trump card for Chizik, but I just hope it will pay off. If we are forced to play true freshman, no matter how talented, we will take our lumps. That is to be expected. This scenario leaves us w/ two options. Due to their experience, they are the building block of the program we all want ISU football to be, or a la Bret Meyer they regress due to the constant beating they take.

Re: Recruits???
Where is CLONES33? It always seems like he has great inside information dealing with issues such as these. It also seems like he speaks with a good majority of the players and recruits here at Iowa State. I'll this post has to do for now is wait for an update from him.

Re: Recruits???
While I too am leery of playing true freshman, it worked for Penn State a couple years ago when Deon Butler and Derrick Williams were true freshman. They put Penn State immediately back on the map when critics were calling for Joe Pa to retire. Granted they are probably exceptions and not the rule, but it's possible.

Derrick Williams was the #1 recruit in the nation.
Not many true freshman will be able to come in and have that kind of success.

Re: Recruits???
I've always wondered how teams that are struggling like we are can even have a chance at recruiting? Obviously, the early playing time is the card to play. Honestly though, what does Chizik have to respond when a recruit mentions the kind of losses we've had. What do you say to that?

Re: Recruits???
And, over in Lincoln, the world beaters have a boig recruiting weekend planned: HuskersIllustrated.com <http://msg1svc.net/cqdnh/85204/39/210009/20213/0/H/dlfy.html> is also reporting this will be a huge recruiting weekend. Who will be in town? * SIX four-star recruits, including FIVE in the Rivals250 * One FIVE-STAR recruit, ready to watch the action * TWO of the best 2009 prospects in the country * A 6'5, 190 pound receiver with offers from all over the country All set and ready to go by Duane 'Roz' Rossiter
It is set. The Nebraska coaching staff has finalized official visits for two of their top junior college prospects. Combined the two defensive linemen have in access of 40 offers and both of them are ranked in the Rivals.com JC top 10. To get these two to visit the same date is a major accomplishment. Their coach was gracious enough to fill us in on the details.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
