To all those getting their built-in excuses for this game in place like "ISU's Super Bowl", etc. :

On Saturday, a team will win and a team will lose. Period.

For the loser, there are no excuses that can change that. At the end of the season, that loss will still be on the team's record. You can't get a mulligan, you can't get an asterisk, and you definately can't get it removed. You can't get anything but a +1 in the loss column.

As Gene Chizik would say, "There are winners and losers in everything we do."

On Saturday, there will be a winner and there will be a loser.

Period.

umm ok. I don't plan on making any excuses if ISU loses, there is no excuse for the last 2 games either.

Apparently, I didn't make myself clear. That is a response to all the Iowa built-in excuses if they lose this game. If they lose, they will have excuses. But it won't change anything because they will still have lost.

This wasn't calling out Iowa State fans.

What will their excuse be when Iowa loses? Pick from below or add one.

Refs.

Weather.

Away Game.

Injuries.

Bad luck.

Played a crummy game.

Could not run a ball.

Looking ahead to next week.

The throwback uniforms.

New qb.

Intra state rivalry games are tough.

Shoes.

Mental errors.

Loss of key players due to thievery.

ISU cheated.

Cheerleaders were distracting.

Band disrupted cadence.

Student body was too much.

Kirk forgot his lucky charm.

Ace was too good.

One game doesn't define us, like it does for Iowa State
Losing to the Cyclones pretty much insures that we go to a New Years Day Bowl Game

Huh? Are you as focused on the Big 10 as you were last year?

One game does not define our team either.

How the h*ll does losing to us ensure that the Hawks play on New Years Day? I would think that winning the majority of your games would get you there (what is it now for the Big Ten to play on New Years Day... 6...7 wins?) Losing to us on Saturday would more likely ensure you that the Hawks will NOT be playing in a mighty bowl game... of course I am forgetting the difficulty of the Big Ten, my bad.

Don't you check bios and previous posts before ripping on someone?

You can't tell me you have never heard a hawk fan say the crap about going to a New Year's Day bowl after losing to us the last couple times.

Great post Red. I know I have got one an azzhole that is and sometimes I can be pretty good with the excuses and oh yes I am a clone fan.
