Could be a blessing for their franchise(assuming the injury isn't serious for his future). Without Oden, they could be in position for another top 5 pick to stockpile even more star power. They could be scary in a couple years, but this year won't be much to watch.

I am not particularly an Oden fan, but I was curious to see how he would compete as a rookie. Guess I will see next year.

I saw the headline earlier but didn't read the story. Microfracture surgery is not a good thing. No one has been the same athletically after that surgery.

I live in Oregon, but hadn't heard this yet. I have been here for 6 years and never paid much attention to the "jailblazers", but the team that they have constructed now (minus Darius Miles) was one that I was actually looking forward to see play. Maybe Sterns little white ball will bounce their way again next offseason. Hopefully he will make a full recovery and Brandon Roy can feed him the rock down low for many years to come!!!

Consider what would have happened had Oden decided to stay at Ohio State rather than enter the NBA draft.
