What time are the parking lots opening?

I've been hearing rumors of both 2:30am and 6:30am...anyone heard any confirmations?

Just depends on the back up of traffic I believe. Most will probably open on time, but if there is a pack up of cars onto a major road, then they will start letting people in like two years ago..

Officially, all lots will open at 6:30.

Unofficially, if the lines to get in the general public (grass) lots are causing traffic difficulties, it may be closer to 4:30.

We showed up at 11pm last night and was in row #3 in lot G4 for the line to get into G2/G3. There were 7 lines waiting by the time they started moving.The parking folks told us that people started lining up at 1pm Friday! It was nuts, the lot across the street on SE 16th was full of RVs and buses. What sucked was they knocked on our door at 4am to let us know they were going to start filling the G2/G3 lot and the starter on our RV decided not to work. Just replaced the damn thing on Monday and started it 3 other times before parking last night.

Then what ticked us off more was we wound up just parking in G4 and the DPS parking Nazi made us pay another $20 just to setup our tent. Never had to do this before but we argued this and she basically said another word and she'd call the cops and kick us out of the lot. One of our friends told her good luck cuz our RV wasn't going to start and she said she tow it so we wound up paying $40 today to park and put up a tent which is BS. The parking guys that help us push the RV into a spot out of the way even told us to put the tent up next to it so we though it was BS to be charged after they told us to do this!

So yeah, not sure if the RV is going to make the trip to Nebraska now. Going back to Ames in the morning to swap out the starter just so we can get it out of the lot.
