Cyclone Football Anthem 2007

Although we have looked bad this year,
And on the surface our outlook seems bleak.

With every tackle, yard, and cheer,
This weekend we realize we're not so weak.

We know that we can beat the Hawks,

Well it looked extremely rocky for the Cyclone gang that day,
The record was 0-2, with but a week til the Hawks they'd play

But when Douglas stole a credit card, and Bowman did the same,
A smile tugged the lips of every Cyclone at the game.

A going to the 4th, the scoreboard read a 10-10 tie,
And Captain Kirk looked as if he might gouge out an eye.

Then Meyer hit Blythe deep and to the wonderment of all,
Their whipping boy named Shaggy kicked the cover off the ball!

And when the horn had sounded and they saw what had occurred,
There was Chizik on their shoulders, and Herkey was a sad sad bird.

For the Cyclones,
The mighty Cyclones...had Beat Iowa!

I may be an complete ignoramous for this, but I really do think we are going to win this game. I just have this sense that it is going to turn around. Iowa ain't that good, if we come out and play mistake free, force them to make a couple of mistakes, and keep from stepping on our dicks, there is no reason we can't win.

You are not. I am with you! I went to ISU from 83-87 and there has never been an ISU / iowa game that I thought we would lose...this game is no different!

For some reason, I have a refreshing level of confidence about this game. I had the same feeling in 2005, as well, even when Iowa was ranked #8. Of course, I had the same feeling last year and we lost, but that game essentially went down to Mac's famous 4th Down call with a couple minutes left.

You guys are all over this one.....i too think we have a shot at victory....Iowa/Iowast game really is a fierce battle and a break here or there will determine the winner.

Let's hope meyer only hits our guys, bass runs over theirs, blythe is brought back from the dead, bowen goes ballistic, bell records two picks returning one to the house and culbertsons able to kick one through the uprights, all this without having sandvig fumble and we will win this game!!!!

Then again, I'm not exactly impressed by what Iowa's done all season either. They didn't exactly lay it on to a lesser MAC opponent in NIU, and talk to a knowledgeable Hawkeye fan (if you can actually find one) and they'll tell you they weren't exactly impressed with the "beating" that they laid on the 'cuse. Well, at least we'll know where both teams stand by the end of Saturday.

I said the same thing before the UNI game.....and...well....

But, fortunately, I'm an optimist to a level I have never seen matched, so I also think we'll beat Iowa. Let's just keep repeating the score 23-3 in our heads and our mental energy will make it happen! GO CYCLONES!
