O.T. - Microsoft is messing with your computer

Surprise surpise. Those automatic downloads are coming your way no matter what. Read the people arguing in the comments - reminds me of the USC - Nebraska fan thread talking about Hawkeye fans:

Microsoft Watch - Operating Systems - Windows Update's Sneaky Updates

EIU is the other Okoboji University for serious students and home of Captain Kirk who pilots the Enterprise on its Trek through the Universe for finding his next great job. Captain, beware of your Superbowl.

Re: O.T. - Microsoft is messing with your computer

I have a question for the tech guys on here. Which patch do I need to be able to open Office 2007 in XP? Thanks in advance.

Not a patch. Just a small app. Microsoft Compatibility Pack for office 2007 Just sent that out in Group policy this morning. Weird coincidence.

Download details: Microsoft Office Compatibility Pack for Word, Excel, and PowerPoint 2007 File Formats

As for microsoft. I really could care less that they are doing this. If they start stealing my info and using it against me, then yes. If you dont like them having that kind of access then go with another OS. Until MS proves otherwise, I will trust them.

LOL

At least I'm not the only one that notices that phrase being used incorrectly rather often.

just make sure you save your files in compatiblity mode otherwise nobody else will be able to open it unless they also have 2007. It puts a word document in .docx format instead of.doc

Oh yeah...well...I'm giving you the bird. Not just with one hand...but with both of 'em!

And...to make sure you know I mean it - I crossed both bird-fingers.

So there...

I would rather have MS messing with my computer and sending me security updates each month than some pimple-faced kid in his mom and dad's basement trying to hack my machine in between Jergen's fueled escapades on PornoTube.
