Did you say "Oh yeah, well you mother wears combat boots!" or some other equally childish response?

I actually work with a Sqwak that I can actually have an intelligent conversation with (yeah, I know, those don't come along often, and no, he didn't attend EIU). He actually admitted to me he thought Iowa was going to lose until our first two games. He also laughed and admitted it's true when I e-mailed him the "What do Iowa and Iowa State fans have in common?" joke. Too bad there aren't more like him.

Yeah I work with an Iowa fan and he keeps telling me how big Iowa is going to win by but doesn't even know who their QB is.

I hear Iowa doesn't even need a qb to beat us. They're that good.

My friends who attend Iowa all claim they are afraid of this game because they never play as well as they should against us.

well I must say it will be an honor to lose to the defending and upcoming national champs...what with their wins over NIU and Syracuse and all.

This is worth repeating. I would wager that ~45-50% of Hawk fans CANNOT name any of their players.
I've also found that there is a direct correlation between those 45-50% "fans" and the amount of smack talk that comes out their mouths.

Yup, this game means so little to them that they rarely even attempt to get up for the game. That's the reason they just don't play well at all this game.
My suggestion to them is to start treating this like a real game. OK, maybe it's not thier SuperBowl, but, it's still a football game

Well said. What a priviledge it is for us to be allowed to play a team the caliber of iowa every year.
Just ask them....

I was there when they crucified my Lord
I held the scabbard when the soldier drew his sword
I threw the dice when they pierced his side
But I've seen love conquer the great divide
