The reason they're on TV is because the teams they play are from large population centers. And for some crazy reason ratings drive programming. I guess that's just too hard to understand for hawkfan.

Just heard a new excuse on Jon Miller's show:
"ISU always has a non-conference game after the Iowa-ISU game, and we always have a Big Ten game that were looking forward to".
Some arrogant Hawkeye fan said it on Jon's show a few minutes ago. Hawks are over looking the Cyclones.
Sorry, should have mentioned it was a call in. Didn't mean to attribute that to Mr. Miller.
The newest excuse that I have heard from more than one person this week:
"Since Iowa's 99 January Bowl games in 4 years, they have been able to recruit from areas all over the country. This has messed up the chemistry of the team. Iowa needs to get back to recuriting Iowa boys only."
Not so much an excuse than a sudden realization. The Hawks really have gone downhill ever since their few great seasons, and oddly enough, they seem to do better with home-grown players.
Let's make a bet.
How many more of these threads can we expect to see?
I am willing to bet I've seen more anti-Hawkeye threads than pro-Cyclone threads over the course of the past 2 weeks.
I understand last week, and I understand the couple days after the game. But now, it's closer to the Toledo game than the Iowa game, and every other thread is "Squawk fans say this" or "What's their excuse now?"
I'd love to put the Iowa saga behind us, too. Although I'll say the last 4-6 days have been a nice ride. We've got a huge road game in two days and there's been very little talk about it.
Exactly. I mean, the Iowa win was a huge pick up for the ISU fan base. But, there comes a time to move on.
Yes, Iowa fans are making excuses. We will be for a while. As long as your definition for an excuse is trying to explain an inexplicable loss, then it'll probably last until next year.
