Re: To those who doubted our coaching staff...
I don't believe that the gameplan changed much from week one to yesterday. Yes, we saw some new wrinkles, like 5 wide and Blythe across the middle. But what showed yesterday is that they are fundamentally much better in week 3. Just look at Chris Brown's form tackle on that 3rd and 1. That was perfection.
What I'm interested to see is if we just needed a shot in the arm to get something rolling, or if we just caught a napping Iowa, or that Iowa really is just that bad on offense, or that once in a while we can get lucky.
I have to say it's probably a bit of all of this. But when Bret squared take care of their business we can compete. When the offense stays on the field longer than the D, the D is much better. Whatever it is, I think that we know that our coaches believe what they say, they take care of ISU before they worry about who they play. I think that we will see more of the same solid line play improve, and Meyer seemed to believe he is safe for 3 or more seconds now.
Great job getting better, and here's to getting a lot better. Texas is not invincible... Let's take it to Toledo, and then hope that we have some answer in Lubbock.

We've all watched ISU "win" the first half only to see the other team snatch the game away at the end. Rarely have we seen ISU rally once they've surrendered the lead. That was the sweetest part of yesterday's victory...

Don't get disappointed with our conservative approach. I think the bottom line is that we have coaches that want to open it up but realize that we just don't have the athleticism and speed to do what they want to do.
Just look at the lack of closing speed demonstrated on the last kickoff to iowa yesterday. Mark my words...Chizik is going to make sure we have a faster team going forward.
So, it is better to win ugly than lose pretty...EVERY TIME!

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -

The staff is not immune to mistakes. Things were changed up last week on a few different fronts. Combine that with the players finally starting to understand some of what they've been taught - we get a win.
Kudos to Chizik and his staff for doing the unthinkable - making adjustments. -

Kudos to Chizik and his staff for doing the unthinkable - making adjustments. So... what are these "adjustments" you speak of?
After the last 12 years, I'm trying to get my mind wrapped around the whole concept of "making adjustments." -

How about seeing what the defense was doing and drawing up a pass play on the sidelines that set up the winning field goal?

In Iowa's defense, the coverage looked pretty decent. Bates just made a great play on the ball.

Its been said that Meyer made up the play in the huddle. "Hey Freshman, go long."
