Iowa fans were still talking new years day bowl on hawkeyenation today. They probably will get there, the big10 is baaaaad this year.
You are right on the money with Iowa and the Big 10. They don't have south Teams to compete with Bowls on. Here is my prediction of the conference and why Iowa has lucked out recently.

So in closing, All Iowa has to do is win 4 more games and 5 of those teams don't have a heartbeat. The beat the following teams Western Michigan, Indiana at home, Illiinois at home, Northwestern, Minny etc. and they will go to either the champs sports bowl or insight. Phoenix or orlando isn't bad for a team that sucks AND to top it off if that happens they will get to claim this...

If they pulled that crap in Big12 land they would be going to Detroit or staying home.
Man Being in the Big12 north sure sucks for bowls.
