Debunking of meaninglessness ISU/UI
Don't know if this has been already posted. Though I think it's clear to all that this game means a lot to both sides, it's just more proof.
Wide Receiver Andy Brodell:
“This rivalry means just as much to us as it does to them. We just didn’t match their intensity and we didn’t get the job done.”

I can respect a guy for that comment. Honesty with the rivalry and accountability for the loss... no excuse.
It seems to me players (for the most part) aren't so bad when talking about the rivalry. It's their fans that like to say it's our superbowl when they lose (as if that's somehow a good reason for losing). But yeah... any rivalry makes teams want to win just a little bit more than a normal game... does that make it a superbowl... no... It's just like a sticker on your helmet... an extra thing on top of your regular season to be proud of. Throw UNI in there for importance and it's getting the instate title... better than a BCS bowl? No. But it's still something that's more important than a regular non conference game.
