Does any know what helmets are being used in practice?

That would signal what will be used this weekend. Help would be appreciated on this.

Now we are starting to sound like Fusker fans. Next we will find out someone is sneaking into the locker room after practice to find out if we are wearing the "throwback" jocks.

He's thinking there may be a chance that those throwback unis would become our unofficial road unis for the season. Maybe not, but it'd be cool! :)

Deep within the heart of Iowa, a storm is brewing...
... the winds of change ripple throughout the vast fields of corn surrounding the small college town of Ames.

The Gene Chizik era of football continues, and, with it, a renewed attitude of pride, determination, and success.

This is Cyclone Football.

Close...but it's actually this one...conveniently changing colors on the fly - in order to confuse opposing teams...

Thats a sweet helmet. Would be cooler if it had pokadots that changed with it.

Its not really possible for us to be using the throwbacks, Most of them now have owners.

Actually I think there would be a lot less. Do you think Ace Bowen would come flying to the ball at full speed if he had a peice of leather on his head. Do you think any defender would be dumb enough to lower the boom if he had a peice of cow on his head. HELL NO.

Ace would do it. He is the Juggernaut.

Re: Does any know what helmets are being used in practice?

Agreed. Back then the common injury was a dislocated shoulder. Today it's the concussion.

Watch old film. No one lowers the head and tries to deliver a blow -- it was all done with the shoulder pad. Cross body blocks and chop blocks were a main weapon for the offensive linemen.
