What backups hit the field against Iowa
I heard that a lot of backups got to play in the Iowa game. Does anyone know what guys got playing time? I think GC is going to build some depth on this team one way or another.

Chizik rotated the defensive two deeps in and out quite alot during the first three games. Determining who all got playing time may be quite an undertaking.

Rumor has it that Jason Berryman snuck onto the field but they spotted him soon and ran him off. He wanted some Hawkeye meat. We miss you Jason. You had a great motor.
Actually just go to each game on cyclones.com stats and look at the last page (18 in this case) to see the fine print for the participants at the bottom: http://www.cyclones.com//pdf7/85354....B_OEM_ID=10700
I counted 66 players made it into the game. How many dressed?

I talked to him 2 weeks ago in ames, man he was humble. its a little late, but you could just see it in the guys eyes and tell by his words that he wanted to turn back time and do it over.

Re: What backups hit the field against Iowa
Thought Nate and Bates were on page 18 of the cyclones.com game stats as part of 66 players who played.

Re: What backups hit the field against Iowa
John & Eric called attention to Nate entering the game with a wrap around his wrist. We can use another big body on the DL.
In hindsight, Nate was not ready to contribute last year as a true freshman. The wrist has certainly been a setback this season. Now that he is back, I would expect to see some benefit from a year of S&C. He doesn't need to be an everydown player this year - just be able to hold down the fort for 8 to 10 plays a game.
