Florida Student being Taser'd

This might have been brought up, but a couple classmates brought this to my attention and I was wondering what people thought about it. Was the guy rude and obnoxious? A little bit. Did he deserve what he got? In no way ever.

If I can find the article I will, but it states that this guy has a website where he pulls practical jokes and then posts them. According to this, after the cameras were off he started joking around with the cops. It also said that the camera was his and he handed it off to some unsuspecting person in the crowd.

I think he should have obeyed orders, and complied w/ the authorities whether it be police or public safety. Mommy and daddy did not send him off to college to cause a scene and make an *** of himself. He got what any non-complying person should get, but will undoubtedly sue.

I live watching people get tased. Even if the cops are a little overboard. As far as I am concerned if the cop says get down and you don't, break out the taser.

He should have obeyed orders, but in no way did he deserve that. Last time I checked it wasn't a crime to ask a question. It wasn't like Kerry was like "take him away!" Just because the guy has pulled pranks before, does not mean he deserved what he got on Monday.

If you watch the video, he sure wasn't joking. Maybe later he was to try to get out of it, but if a bunch of cops can't cuff him without tasering him....thats sad.

He deserved it, IMO. It was obvious that he was trying to cause a scene and I believe he was happy to get taser'ed. I also think he was playing it up way too much yelling in pain. Not saying that it's a walk in the park to get taser'ed, but come on.

IMO, when you resist arrest and act like a moron, don't be shocked when you get maced or taser'ed, nor knocked with a billy club for that matter.

I have no sympathy for this clown.

I agree he was trying to stir the pot a bit, but if you listen to his screams, I don't see how you could act what was on that tape. I think it was a case of the police going overboard and all they had to do was listen to Kerry, who admited he would answer the question. Last time I checked, they were all there for Kerry anyways so why not do what the man wants to do.

Just heard a cop commenting on this on the Michaelson show, and he brought up a couple great points. #1. Tasers do not make that arcing sound when they are in contact with a person. #2. People lose their ability to speak or cry like a little girl, when they are getting tasered. I think it's either a big show put on by the guy, or a complete set up.

Yes he deserved it!!!! He started walking towards the stage where a US Senator was speaking. Are you just gonna let any yahoo walk up to a stage where a Congressman is? No. The police told him to stop and he didn't so they zapped him. As much as I hate cops I say good work pigs.

He got what he deserved. IMO, he was trying to make a scene, did not comply with the authorities (several times), and was clearly trying to resist. Although purely speculation on my part, but if he had left under the assistance of the authorities when they first approached him, they probably would have just removed him from the building and left it at that.

Having a number of friends in law enforcement, they've told me the only time they use their spray/tasers/sticks is when someone is beyond their control using normal physical efforts.

Who knows but the guy sounded like a ****** bag regardless.

I haven't been following this whole thing about the campus police in Iowa getting guns now but I was at ISU when the controversy over giving them tasers happened. The Veishea riots a few years ago I heard stories from reputable people I know about how they witnessed people not even in the area of the riot get tasered or maced without doing anything to provoke it so makes me wonder of these same officers should be allowed to carry a deadly weapon. I would think if an ISU police officer was ever in a situation they needed a gun Ames Police would already be on scene to handle it.
