Tailgating at Nebraska?

I've heard rumors that tailgating at Nebraska sucks and there isn't many places to park. Is this true? Can anyone give me some insight if there is any kind of tailgating that goes on and where? I've heard from someone that Nebraska's "tailgating" is going to the bars beforhand.

You are correct sir. The best thing to do is try and park next to a group of Cyclone fans and thus you can make it good. If you park in the middle of NU fans it will be no fun for you.

I'm just curious where the general public parking is. Their website sucks for telling you what is what.

We had a blast tailgating at Nebraska a couple of years ago. We parked at the baseball field and there were plenty of Cyclone fans there...

There are a couple of lots west of the stadium by the baseball complex, but doners have dibs on those. Most parking is in the downtown area south of the stadim - roughly 10th - 20th, O - P streets. A few business surface lots where it is common to squeeze in bumper to bumper & have to wait for everyone to get back in order to exit the lot - not much fun. Many park in downtown garages. Not a great tailgating spot and it can take awhile for those to empty out. Good luck.

When did they give those to the donors? Two years ago it was public parking for $15. We parked out beyond the left field fence and it was almost all Cyclone fans.

Tailgating at Nebraska is terrible. Parking lots are dry, and enforced to be that way and $35 to park. The parking is really all over the place, and there is no central place to tailgate. I would recommend this: Have fun in Omaha Friday. Go to NU Game. Return promptly to Omaha to celebrate ISU victory.

Memorial Stadium is AWESOME. One of the best places I've watched football. But the tailgating at Nebraska is the pits.

P.S. Shoot me a PM. I'll be at NU for the game. Perhaps we could have a "workshop" for Nebraska fans to show them how to tailgate appropriately.

If anyone goes to the Nebraska game, I am just curious about something. Take an unofficial count of how many pickup trucks you see with those fake set of balls hanging off the trailer hitch. I am going to set the over/under at 1700.

PS - WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THOSE THINGS? Everytime I see one of those I want to try that Police P.I.T maneuver on the truck.

what? how so? I thought kNebraska fans were the greatest in the country? if you ask a nebraska fan, of course.

Well we are debating taking the RV so not so worried about the booze rule as that's an easy thing to hide and consume inside if we have to. I know when we go to Kansas later this year it's a pain to tailgate there as you have to find a frat parking lot usually to setup at.

From what I've seen, they run neck and neck with Iowa for the most obnoxious. In fact, they might even be worse. I remember thinking that after the kNU game last year. After this years EIU game, I'm not sure

Go easy on the Bugeaters dood. I have been to a lot of football games with them. I don't like NU, but don't even put the Bugeaters in the same sentence with Iowa or CU fans for that matter.

Nebraska people are really great fans, I just wish there were fewer of them in Ames on gamedays.
