It looks like Cincinnati will sign Marvell Waithe

Visited on 4/30/06. Offered per ScoutHoops. 05/11/06: "A time of 1PM has been set for next Tuesday at which point Waithe will announce his intentions.

I assume this means that Jamar Smith will accept ISU's scholarship offer??? I think it was down to ISU and Cincinnati for Smith?

Are you certain ISU has even made Smith an offer? I'm not sure they have.

Drew and Psyched,

I am making some assumptions based on what I read on the Cincy site and what Jeremy wrote earlier this week. Jeremy indicated that Smith had been offered a scholarship by ISU and that Cincy was pushing hard for him as well. Waithe is 6'8" and 175 lbs. He plays small forward. If I read correctly, Cincy is now up to 7 commits for '06-'07.

I could be wrong but I don't think GMac has extended an offer to Smith and I don't think he will. I guess we'll see what happens in the next few days.

I wasnt trying to doubt what you were saying. I just wanted to know if this was fact or not because he sounds like he would be a nice addition to the team.

Here is Cincy's current crop. From reading their board, opinions are split as to whether Waithe will join this class or not. There was nothing on their board regarding Smith.

Reread the original post, please. I wasn't tying ISU to Waithe. I was making some assumptions and wondering whether Smith would join ISU since Waithe was going to Cincy. Jeremy seemed to indicate that it was down to ISU and Cincy for Smith's services.
