Hamilton used an autologous blood transfusion. That is when you use somoene elses blood. If you store your own blood and use it later it is a homologous blood transfusion. I actually think Hamilton may have intended to do a homologous blood transfusion. He had a teammate test positive for an autologous blood transfusion at the same time. I think they accidentally switched blood. They don't have a reliable test for a homologous blood transfusion right now.
