It was refreshing to see some positive emotion coming out of Kirk. There have been a lot of ups and downs, and the program is certainly in a "down" right now. He's a great guy, and a great fit for the school. The criticism he's received is justified but at the same time not - it's tough to win at a school like Iowa, but at the same time his pay should mean more wins than 5 a year.
That being said, anybody who disagrees that he loves the game, the University of Iowa, and wants his players to succeed more than anything are kidding themselves.
He deserved this win.

Re: Ferentz looking backwards...
Give him 12 year extension so he can go recruit Illinois.
He was crying because he knows he will now get paid next week and he has beat back the Hawkeye Wolves.

Seriously... someone talk to Jeremy.. We need a special forum for Hawkeye talk. Not just the In-State Rivals one but one devoted for the Hawks on this CYCLONE Board. That way Southern can talk and be as happy as he wants their. Not like they don't have Hawkeye websites over there for you guys. I mean thats crazy talk.....
Great win Southern. Good Job. You guys beat IL and I couldn't care less or I mean be happier for you guys.
Seriously Cyclone fans why do we keep feeding Southern?? You know he's coming to come back and bite us while we are down one of these days..

I'm here for discussion concerning Iowa vs. Cyclone topics. If I become disrespectful, I expect to be called on it. Obviously my replying to Iowa topics has gotten on some peoples' nerves - yet they continue to "feed me" as you put it.
But, I'm not here to kick anybody while their down. Iowa had a great win this weekend, but that was the first one since ISU had their great win - against Iowa.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -

Gene Chizik - 1-7 as a college head coach.
Not much better ;)
Seriously, are you really continuing this thread? I mean, isn't obvious by now that this Iowa team this year is garbage?

Actually, I'm not happy about the record Chizik has but I also understand that we don't have a large enough data sample to make the kind of judgment on him that we can make of Ferentz.
My friend, I would submit to you that your situation is more bleak than "this Iowa team this year is garbage"...you have major problems with your program - both on and off the field and at this point, after nearly a decade at the helm, you can only really point to the man in charge.
You have to admit it...he is a mediocre coach (at best).

I'm not willing to say that KF is a mediocre game coach, but it would appear that his staff can't control the situations over there, and can't control the player.
It depends on what happens with this new situation. But, I will admit that I am losing faith in what's going on.
