I'll be honest i haven't read this thread, it annoyed me just seeing a thread even started with that title, 4 games into the season, under a new head coach, new system, lots of new players, to even speculate about it is retarted.

Amen. Chizik & Co. is the best staff we could possibly hope to have in Ames right now. If you don't understand that, you need to leave the state of Iowa for a while and take a look from the outside-in. There is very little to draw quality coaches to Iowa State at this point.

The mistakes this year have been execution, not coaching. The good news is that execution is far easier to correct to than bad coaching.

When we don't shoot ourselves in the foot (vs. Iowa, for example) we look like a decent football team.

I'll take it a step further and remove the "hope" and "right now & Ames".

"Amen. Chizik & Co. is the best staff we could have."

As I talked about in Why I love this staff. They are building it the right way and while on any given Saturday it may not look like it, great things are under way.

    Re: Is Chizik the Man?

I think the first four games is evidence of the lack of recruiting that MAC did the last year or two, because the new staff is having as many problems winning games as the old staff. This is where I think Chizik is the man, hopefully he can bring some speed from teh south and get some farm boys for the line.

    Re: Is Chizik the Man?

I was looking through the media guide and concluded that the mix of players needs to change. When there are 30 players from Florida/Georgia and 30 from Texas and 10 from Illinois and several from California then we will be competitive in the Big 12. The top programs in the Big 12 south, already have their '08 recruiting classes almost complete but there are still many quality players uncommitted. Even if they are verbally committed this coaching staff has demonstrated a willingness to get them to flip. If you look at the background of the staff, it looks like it has been put together to get this mix of players.

    Good article JCloned.

Funny how people will jump to conclusions about the title, find what they want in article - some that aren't even there, take things out of context, twist it, b!tch to the heavens about what they think something is means, .

And all the while be wrong.

    Re: Is Chizik the Man?

Chizik is the Man this year.

Last year it was Dan was the man.

We will beat the Big Red in Lincoln on Saturday!

The Man is on our team.

They only have Bill Callahan and Dennis Cosgrove and unhappy campers.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
