Ken is more likely to apologize. I forgot which one made the remark. Although if Marty made that comment and you emailed all he would do is bash you on the show...

Re: Marty & Miller poke fun and Shaggy and family
Kudos to you! If he would have cracked that line about me in front of me... I wouldn't have stopped where "Chrissy" Everett did with Jim Rome I can promise you that. He would have wished he was Jim Rome after I got done with him.

I think he was genuinely take aback by my concern. It was worth talking with him off air-seriously the radio personality and the guy that I talked with are way better human beings than I thought.

Oh...I agree jmb...Ken is a good guy. I just wonder if he allows Marty to trip him up now and then.

Just in case you didn't know... I'm a girl. -
Re: Marty & Miller poke fun and Shaggy and family
If I was Shaggy in this situation, or if it was said about me and my wife or girlfriend, I'd be down outside the studio waiting for him to exit the building so that I could break his nose and/or crush his trachea. If I'd get arrested, so be it.

Those are inversly proportional to the sucess of our football team. In aug there were hardly any off topic posts, now that is all you see anymore. Say we beat NU this weekend, it will swing back the other way.

I actually think its a funny joke by M and M

Re: My emails, and Ken's call to my office.
Calling Bull-***** on this one.
Ken can say they don't pull punches, will say the same things if somebody is in the room. Not true. He can think that, he might even believe it. Human nature says otherwise.
I don't think any of can find it hard to see that the interview with JP in person didn't have near the "heat" of the over the phone ones. Probably same goes with coaches. The ripping they'll do on Morgan or Mac doesn't even come close to what they'll say on the phone and sure as hell not what they'd say in person.
Not any different here. All of us live behind keyboards, most have a certain degree of annonimity. Again, just human nature.
I'd also find it just as likely that Marty made the joke, Ken rolled his eyes - had a moment of pause, and is not doing damage control and protecting the show. That's probably a weekly occurence having to be paired up with dumber.
Not likely they'd say that to Shaggy's face. Not a chance in hell they'd say it to his wife's face.

jmb, all I am saying is my initial reaction to what he said would be just what I posted... if not worse. Although it might not have been a good idea to drop kick him, I am more than sure he would have deserved it... unlike shaggy and his family who didn't deserve what they got.
but... being the good Christian I am... I would have apologized and asked for forgiveness. Not sure if either of the two offered an on-air apology for what they said, but I hope they find it within themselves to do so.

Re: Marty & Miller poke fun and Shaggy and family
The only reason anyone listens to them is because there's nothing else for sports radio in Des Moines...guess I can go out and buy satellite radio now for real sports talk shows and not feel one bit bad about doing so...I will never listen again...
