Marty & Miller poke fun and Shaggy and family
Supposedly, based on a post from jmb...a joke was made about Shaggy, his unborn kid and his wife... http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/forum/...tml#post193641 Originally Posted by jmb You know what I had the very same reaction as Gundy last night when I listened to Dumb & Dumber on KXNO last night. Lloyd:think of a wheezing camel in heat attempting but failing miserably to laugh "eeeeeeeeeeeehhhhheeeeeeeeee"
I was(am) so ****** off. That is horse crap leave the kid alone. Bringing his wife into this is ****, and I really don't care if I get banned for my swearing, but to have two radio "personalities" on in DM attacking college players and their wives is low rent and intolerable.
I was so angry I thought it better not to call last night.

Re: Marty & Miller poke fun and Shaggy and family
And this is a big deal why? I think the key words are "poke fun."
I don't think we need to go Don Imus on M&M for this. Marty getting inside info from his dentist and reporting it is worse IMO.

Another poster that listened in... http://www.cyclonefanatic.com/forum/...tml#post193669
Drive...I agree we don't need to go nuts on him - however - I find dragging a man's family into something that takes place on a football field to be a little less than professional.

Re: Marty & Miller poke fun and Shaggy and family
This is what he said.... No reason to take a shot at a kid.. Or an unborn baby. I dont' care who the heck you are, that isn't right or funny.
Since Shaggy's wife is expecting he took a shot at the baby... He said that the kick was not even close to being blocked and shaggy plain missed it. He went on to say if the baby is taking after him, then he probably isn't able to kick his mom's stomach.
Extremely pathetic and unprofesional. He keeps getting worse since the head shaving. __________________

Why a new thread on this? Trying to get people riled up about the Mouth and Miller?

Plus, it sure beats the global warming, political and job relocation threads. Or would you rather discuss NASCAR?

No big surprise from those losers.
Dumb & Dumberer have no class, 'nuff said.

Re: Marty & Miller poke fun and Shaggy and family
There's no question its not cool to bring his wife into the conversation, no matter the circumstance. As much anger as Shaggy has caused me, I still think he's a good guy and wish him well. I guess when I heard it I thought nothing of it. Maybe I wasn't paying attention and didn't hear the exact wording.

Re: Marty & Miller poke fun and Shaggy and family
Eh, this is what these radio guys do. I use to get upset especially at newspaper people like the OK-STATE coach did, now I can barely get up the urge to comment.
But, I do find it funny that Marty would make a comment like this and then have a heart attack over the PA Announcer at Jack Trice Stadium announcing a serious traffic accident.
These are just the contradictions of being a media person.

Re: Marty & Miller poke fun and Shaggy and family
If this is true, Chizik needs to "Go Gundy" on them. Coaching is not only recruiting and running a program it is standing up for your players. This is a test for him. If Chizik handles this situation correctly it can have a huge positive impact on recruiting.

Re: Marty & Miller poke fun and Shaggy and family
If anyone said anything about kicking me (or not kicking me) in the stomach while I was with child, they better hire some bodyguards. It is not funny!
Just in case you didn't know... I'm a girl. -

My emails, and Ken's call to my office.
All here is threaded email that Ken and I had. After my last question he called my office as all of my emails are signed with my name, email, and phone number. He called and we had a great discussion. I told him what I was angry with was that he brought a man's wife and child(to be) into something that was out of bounds. Meaning, and I said specifically "look I often don't agree with you, and will call your show and tell you as such-but never have I called in and made jokes about your wife or kids." he said "fair." He thought this(my anger) was because I am a clone fan, but I actually am a fan of both schools( not profitable enough in my business to be againt Iowa...ISU over Iowa always) but said I would be every bit as mad if they said the same thing about Signor.
I said that Shaggy brings this on himself by putting on the uni, but his wife and unborn kid don't get those choices. He genuinely sounded concerned and I have a new found respect for him after our discussion. I may not agree with him, but he seems a heck of lot better than what I thought of him prior to that call. He didn't need to call me, and was man enough to do so-I find that commendable. I believe he will listen to the tapes(as he said he really wanted to listen to the spirit of the joking) and think about this-I freely admitted I could have heard it in the wrong way etc. But we had a very amicable discussion, and I am pleased we talked-as I think he was as well. This call was probably 5-10 minutes and was very good discussion. I told him I was Gundy unhappy with him which brought a good laugh to both of us...enjoy the read.
Here is our email discussion:
me to them to start: Harry and Lloyd “Bad job out of you two” last night! I listened for my token 5 minutes and the new lows you reach are never ending. Last night when you were attacking Brett Culbertson you found new ways to become more chimp’ish in your program. To attack Culbertson, then to allow jokes of pregnancy (real or made up for your purpose of personal attack) issues etc. to roll off of your lips is inexcusable-no excuse. I called in a couple of months back when you two claimed “we never personally attack anyone” and said you do and provided you multiple instances where you did engage in the policy of personal attack. HACKS! To criticize Brett is ok, to lower the level of discourse on the radio to the point where you make Jim Rome seem like a good guy is indicative of who you are and the means you employ to ratings grab. There is no excuse for bringing jokes about Culbertson or his family-none. I don’t know the kid but I do have a moral code, and find that the absence of such code in your life makes anyone your potential victim. I don’t expect you will acknowledge your mistake or man up and apologize to the kid and the listeners for your egregious error in judgment-but why would I? You already have proven you lack a moral code Ken to me Harry and Lloyd, clever. I recall the banter that you're referring to but I don't think it was an attack of any sort. Let me ask you if somehow we mentioned that Austin Sigor was married and his wife was pregnant and I cracked a joke that if the child gets pops dna he's likely miss when he kicked in the womb would you be so upset? A personal attack would be to call out his wife for being overweight or his parents for being divorced etc etc, neither of which I'm saying by the way. Now we can debate if we actually crossed the line by having fun at his unborn child's expense but that show airs daily down the hall. Here's hoping you enjoy today's five minutes more than yesterday.
My reply No making jokes about kids and wives is out of bounds-and yep I sure would be angry if you did the same to SigNor. Moral code Ken, Moral code-try one you may find it helpful. HIs reply We have different morals. Thanks for writing.
My reply again Clearly- Thanks for being honorable enough to reply to me…one last question would you have made that same joke if he(Shaggy) was in the room? Or did you garner your courage from the fact that he can’t/couldn’t reply to you-serious question.
His last reply Of course, did you hear the face to face with the Stars last month? If there's one show in the market that doesn't shy from much, right or wrong, it's us.
My last reply prior to his call: Last question and I’m done-same joke mrs. Shaggy in the room? -

That was a low blow even for Farty and Spiller.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.
