Big 10 football
After watching several openers of the Big 10, especially Iowa and Wisconsin's offenses, one particular quote came to mind..
"Its like watching a bunch of retards trying to hump a doorknob"--- patches o'houlihan
Big 10 football is aweful this year. It is funny how teams like Michigan and Iowa will be back after beating up on the crap at the bottom of that conf.

Re: Big 10 football
Here's a typical series of Big 10 football:
1st down: HB dive, 1 yard gain.
2nd down: HB iso, 2 yard gain.
3rd down: Incomplete pass.

Yeah, but their punters are very good.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Big 10 football
Considering the big ten has had losses to the worst team in the Big 12, ACC, and a 1AA school... not good.

They were just primping for the real football. They just played their exhibition season.

Re: Big 10 football
The Big Ten is down this year - to a point. However, the Big Ten has done very well against OOC opponents over the past decade - and the offenses may not be exciting, but the Big Ten is known for defense not offense.

Living in the Big Ten area I find it absolutely intolerable -- very similar to living in Omaha and dealing with the Husker fan. The key word is arrogance combined with being blind. Absolutely no chance for a productive discussion.

The SEC is the class of college football this season. The rest of the conferences have 2 or maybe 3 good teams.
The Big12 has one good team, and vastly overrated Texas team.
Same as the BigTen - Ohio State is good, but Wisconsin is overrated and Penn State is struggling again.

This isn't brain science. Heck, it ain't even rocket surgery.

Re: Big 10 football
how bad is it when the big 12 has only one good team, yet has at least two wins over the big 10... ouch for you my friend.
Big 12 at least has some decent top 25 teams. Big 10 goes from overrated.. Wisc, Penn St... to Ok.. Purdue... to aweful (rest of the 11)

UW, PSU, Purdue, Iowa, Michigan, Ohio State, Michigan State, and even Indiana all have a chance to go bowling.
Big 12? OU, Texas, TAMU, Mizzou, TT or Okie State, and maybe Nebraska. Outside of those teams, the Big12 is really nothing.

And turns out Syracuse is not so bad after all. The Big 10 is better than you think. (watch out for Illinois) And you have to look at matchups before you judge a team....there is no way you can say anything about the Iowa/Wisconsin game because they were almost identical teams slugging it out.

Re: Big 10 football
Hmm, I finally have to step in and disagree here. I am very similar to you in regards to my fan-ship but with a tilt to the ISU side. I cannot in good faith even try to argue that the Big10 has anyone outside of OSU that belongs in the top 20 maybe 15.
There is a reason you hear players and coaches in the Big 10 saying I just can't wait to get to Big 10 football, because they all have designed teams to combat the other teams in the conference. What is going on now though is that some teams are mixing it up and sneaking up on a few of the traditionally 2nd tier teams in the big 10. (UM and OSU are the only tier 1 teams on a consistent basis) They are doing this by revamping their offensive playing style and certain teams are not built to stop this, see Michigan this year and Iowa last year. This will be a very mediocre year for the Big 10 with only OSU really standing out although UM will have a strong record at the end of the year and play in a big bowl. The rest of the teams will be lumped in the middle with a depleted Iowa team in the bottom third of the league. (I am making this assumption with the latest injuries taken into consideration otherwise they would have been 6-7 win team.)
The Big XII will not be much better top to bottom but will fair better as far as bowl record and final season rankings go. (Though I could be wrong with the respect that is still given to the Big 10 in the USA today poll-coaches, see Iowa this week picking up 3 votes after a loss.)

. I wouldn't say that ISU is the third best team in the Big 12, along the same line I don't think Iowa is the 2nd worst team in the Big Ten. I don't know the key to success, but the key to failure is trying to please everyone. -

So 8 teams for the Big 10 and 7 for the Big XII, but you need to put KU in the mix. This really seems like we are arguing over who has the bigger 3" weenie.
