I thought I would let everyone know that its out there.
I'm getting pretty nervous but I think they'll hang on to win it. I listened to the post game on WGN radio last night and the host was trying to talk everyone back off the ledge!!
That would be pretty funny if they dropped a few here in the last 5 and then the brew crew swept in and won the division. Talk about an epic level meltdown if that ever happend.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin 1775
I really wanted to get 2 of 3, prefereably all 3 from the Fish. The Reds scare the bejesus out of me.
The Cards have simply rolled over in playing the Brewers - wouldn't expect much different. The good news is the Brew finish with the Padres and they're playing for their playoff lives as well, and will put up a fight.
Made two of the games over the weekend. God that Sunday game was a blast. Alot of good action on the field and the drama coming out of the Atl/Mil game was fantastic for scoreboard watching.
The Brewers still have a series against San Deigo who is fighting for a playoff berth too. Cubs have Cincy after the Marlins so I think the Brewers are going to have the tougher time since they will basically be playing a series that will probably decide 1 team's fate to end the season. Lou has already said he's going to adjust his rotation to make sure they seal the deal. Hopefuly they clinch before the final game so Lilly can rest and the rotation will have Z and Lilly in games 1 and 2.
Seal the deal was my paraphrasing. Lou's actual quote:
"If we knew we're in the playoffs, we could do a lot of adjustments, and we'll probably tinker with our pitching between now and Sunday," Piniella said. "The way we're scheduled, I wouldn't go to the bank exactly with it." "I said [Wednesday's] starter is the same," Piniella said. "I haven't said anything else. And I haven't said the rotation for Cincinnati either."

I think SD will have trouble without Milton Bradley.
