We did get the commitment from Clinton Mann. So he will be a Cyclone. I think it was KG-CYClone or something like that who was hinting at it earlier. So he did know what he was talking about.
That leaves us 3 schollarships for 09-10. Some may see that as bad. I see it as great.
Now that we have most of the recruiting done. We can go after some big dogs. We most likeley will lose 1 or 2 of these guys so we will probably end up with 5 for 09-10. Dykstra is already in the fold. Hopefully Barnes will be next. Then hopefully we have room for Darius Stevens or another recruit with huge upside. Things are looking good.

I agree knownothing - you never know what can happen 2 years down the line. You take the guys you can get now and see what happens later. I have a really hard time believing we hang on to everybody all 4 years. Wouldn't people take all the guys we have committed now and then somebody like Lockett, Dykstra, Barnes, and Stevens? That would be awesome.

Correct. Mann is 08. I think Locket in 09. Barnes, Dykstra, and one more player for 10. Probably a point guard in 2010 also.

Why the staff likes Mann - Tough and he will be our best defender when he gets to campus next fall...Will play the 4...3 spot. Lockett(09) is the number one target at this point aside from Barnes(10), and yes, the 08 class is officially full.
See that was more fun than just finding out right away this morning...

One last thing. We beat Iowa because.
1. They decided they did not want him.
2. He did not fit lick's system.
3. They had cooled on him.
4. He is a big ten talent.
5. He could not see he future of Iowa basketball.
Feel free to add excuses why the Hawks did not get Clinton Mann.

Because Iowa State is the superior program?
What's the possibility of Mann or one of the incoming guys redshirting?

I really don't think Barnes is as close as everybody thinks he is to committing. He has a long time to make his decision, and Wisconsin is now in the game, and KU is supposed to start their looks too...watch out.

I agree, I doubt we see Barnes commit until next year or the year after. What's the hurry? I just pray it's to us.

That could be good or bad. If the Bball team does well the next few years (makes that NCAA tournament, etc), then I say things look good....but if we struggle up until the year he commits......who knows?
One reason why I'd love to see the guy commit is because we'd essentially be able to count on his talent even if we didn't do all that great - and he already has time in playing with the team. (yes, i know commitments aren't binding agreements)
