Older Photos
I started a page on my site to contain older ISU photos since some of the people have liked looking at them. I only put five on today, but will try to put a couple on each day as I have time.
Not the greatest photos but... Iowa State Athletics by Wesley Winterink -

Very cool to see the old stuff.
They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety. - Benjamin Franklin 1775 -
Re: Older Photos
Does anyone else really like the tornado logo from the 80s as seen in picture 3? I kind of wish that was incorporated into our new logo.

Re: Older Photos
wow, those are some alarmingly short basketball shorts to the left of Johnny...
sad thing is, I remember wearing similar length shorts in high school.... thank god michigan made the more baggy, longer shorts trendy!
I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered. Thomas Jefferson, 1802 -

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes. -

I added a few more this morning, and this particular photo is nothing special except I think #52 might be Greg McDermott but am not positive. Jeff Grayer and Daryl Spinks, Iowa State Cyclones 1986, Photo by Wesley Winterink -
Re: Older Photos
Why is it our players always look like they are in their 40's back then.

Re: Older Photos
Agreed I truely prefer the new logo and mascots. Then again I'm too young to even remember most of the people in those photos, so I'm sure that has something to do with it.

Re: Older Photos
It would be nice to have pictures of our uniforms that go back for the last 30 years, both home and away. No place to find that. Fun to see

That was the "reward" helment. Similar to the pot leafs, I mean Buckeye leafs Ohio State gives out. The player of the week earned the distinction of wearing a different colored helment the next week!
Those were the days!

Those were the days! Yeah, that was a real great idea too - letting the other team know exactly where the player of the week was on the field.
