I've heard negative things about Tech fans, but as with any fan base, there are some great fans, and there are some horrible fans.
thought about going, but it is a LONG drive. just going to catch it on TV, oh I mean the radio.
We had a pretty roudy Tech fan behind us last year. Then security came up to "chat" with him, and someone screamed out, "ask him for a green card." It got rather ugly after that. I think the tech fan should have punched the state fan out.
lol you need to talk to Superfan Cloneluke80... he's trying to do the same thing
On that note, Myself and Superfan are driving down, and dragging 5 of our friends with us... I still can't believe we talked some of them into a 15 hour drive down! :biggrin9gp:
That's right. And after this year all I have left are:
Colorado
Texas A&M
Oklahoma State
Baylor
Considering I'm going to be working in the same state as two of those schools, there's quite a good chance I'm going to finish my tour by the end of the decade.
We are going down in the morning and see old (old) Army buddy that lives in Lubbock and stay with his family for about a week. Lots of old old stories going around .
CY61:wink:
Yep, my dad and I will be heading down. After this year, all we'll have is Colorado, Oklahoma State, and Baylor.
As far as tailgating and game day activities.
Red Raider Football - Game day Central
Raider Alley
Our fans are good overall I would say. The student section is a bit rowdy.

The West Side is the Alumni side. The East Side is more or less the student side. In the lower tier all sections starting with the south end zone is the student section except...18 & 19. The opposing team fan section is generally 13 and goes into 14 as well.
Bring me back a tumbleweed if we win for a souvenoir.
This is first year I haven't endured the trip to Lubbock for the ISU game. Just couldn't bring myself for another year of "Guns up" by the TT students. Always sat in North end zone with ISU group. Lousy seats..............Lubbock is a remote west Texas town with no character and lots of cotton. Best part of Lubbock is the departure gates at airport, good bar there.
I have spent many days and nights there over the past 10 years on business.........ranks right at bottom with Manhattan, KS for a destination.
Anyone heading out to the game from Cyclone Nation this weekend? I live in Dallas and am trekking out west to the game...just wondering if I'll be seeing anyone else there?
