Is Blythe Gone after this year?
There was another article on the subject in the daily: http://media.www.iowastatedaily.com/...epublisher.com
I think he's going to be gone after this year. Whenever something like this gets talked about a lot, it seems like the guy ends up going pro. No matter how many recruiting points you put toward it each week.

I think he will stay if it looks like he'll do better the next yr. We have a great QB coming back, the O-Line should hold up well, the running game can only get better. So while he may have one big reason to leave ($$), he also has several to stay.
(then again, I also read somewhere the his chances in this next draft are better then if he does stay his last yr.....something about a weak recieving cor. in this draft compared to the next)

It sounds very familiar-- weak draft at that position, blah, blah, blah. Sounds like agent-speak to me. But this is what goes with having great players.
In the past, I would have assumed that going pro early is at least partially indicitive that the team had a good season. That wasn't the case with the two bballer's though, so maybe I shouldn't even corellate Blythe leaving early with us having a great season this year...
Hopefully we can have a great season and Blythe and Meyer as seniors, but who knows. Let's not ruin this season agonizing over "what if's."
Yeah well, ya know, that's just, like uh, your opinion, man. -
The offensive line should hold up? Who do we have coming back next year. I thought that was the big question mark.

Blythe is NFL caliber, which in no way implies he is ready for the NFL. If he has a fantastic season and continues to develop his game, then it may make sense for him to enter the draft. Until then, there's no point agonizing about it.
Right now he's our main man. Let's just enjoy the moment. -

I'll drink to that! *once I find my beer*

Jarrett and Johnson will most likely end up going after this year so that leaves a race between Blythe and Sidney Rice as the top reciever in the 07 draft. Instead of Blythe being looked at as the 7th ot 8th possibly this year.

IMO, I think it depends on the type of season Blythe has and were draft experts project Blythe going. If Blythe is projected in the first 2 rounds, he's gone.
-
Don't forget Blythe has been quoted recently saying how he loves college and how he talked to guys in the NFL now, and they say it is all bussiness and how much fun college was. I think he would truly have to explode this year for him to leave. He just really enjoys being in college!

Just as long as he stays two more seasons we will have a weapon that no one else has. Let's not worry till end of the year. cy.bmp Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
If he actually does leave after this year, that means he put up monster numbers which led us to have a fantastic season. I would take that!

I'm not the one in Agony here guy. ;) Two of you used the term "agonizing". Blythe is a great, great player, and in my opinion the greatest WR ever to play at ISU. But nobody is bigger than the program. We'll recover.
