ISU at Tx. Tech Preditions

Well?

I don't think there's a way in hell that we'll stop their passing game and our offense will sputter in a hostile environment after getting down early.

Texas Tech - 42
ISU - 14

Chizik: "One thing that I’d encourage our fans…I want them to be the loudest stadium in the Big 12. I don’t care…I want Jack Trice stadium to be the loudest in the Big 12 and I think that creates homefield advantage.... I want to stress to everyone…I want this place to be juiced up. They bought 36,000 season tickets so there is a passion there…don’t hide it…let it out. I want there to be a passion in the stadium."

I will give us some more points, but it will be hard to stop them, 42-31, bad guys.

42-28 Them. Ugh.

If our offense could play error free or like 05, then I would change my prediction. For that to happen, we need to have a real running group. Yet hatsoff to the oline - they have been better than the stodgy oline group last year that even had some accolades passed their way. Must have been Barner. Maybe it was the strength coach. We are just better sticking with our blocks. No doubt.

It's too early for me to make an offical prediction, but right now I get the feeling Coach Chizik and Bolt will have a good plan to slow down Tech's offense. They will still get big plays, but I don't see them hanging 50 on us. I-State will continue to struggle on kick coverage, although it will be slightly improved. Mistakes will still be made in the form of turnovers. I hope Bass is healthy.

Texas Tech win 35-24

Re: ISU at Tx. Tech Preditions

OK.. here is my predictions...

If we turn the ball over more then 2 times..

42-24 TT

if do not turn the ball over more then 2 times

34-31 ISU

Here are my reasons why
1. Iowa State's Defense is not bad!! When you really look at it, the only reasons teams have beat us is because our offense as turn the ball over givin the opposing team great field position.. See Nebraska game.. the one time Neb got the ball to the 5 on their own we caused a turn over...

2. For some odd reason i see our offense opening things up this week..i remember a couple years back going to A&M and thinking we didnt have much of a chance but then came out of no where are whooped them..(if im not mistaking that was our last conference road win) and i believe iowa state will go to TT and come out strong

3. There is no quit in this team.. that is one thing to be said about iowa state football not once this year has the team looked like they just quit..

4. Texas Tech has not played any1 to impressive so far this year and lost to Ok St 45-49...

5. With all this said.. if we turn the ball over more then 2 times.. or if we allow big plays on special teams for TT.. then.. we will see somthing like my first prediction..

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

What I love about this team is that even when they lose they leave you optimistic!

I have to go with continued improvement and 38-35 Tech in 1 OT

Re: ISU at Tx. Tech Preditions

I'd contend, while our defense is far from great, it'll be the best they have faced so far. On the flip side, this is by far the most potent offense we've faced.

In the first game Tech was tested, they lost. However, they still scored a billion points. Our offense should be able to score on 'em, as long as we're not turning the ball over every 3rd or 4th possession.

However, like BryceC, I pray we cover.

As good as I am at predictions (I've haven't scored yet in the Top Dog contest and I've been a mile off of every ISU prediction thus far), I think we'll cover but won't win. Something like 24-38.

Re: ISU at Tx. Tech Preditions

I'm predicting Tech to win it 45-17. But if Chizik and Co. can come up with a good game plan and the players execute with few turnovers, I can see us winning it.

So, since you are predicting Tech to win by 28 you are predicting that Chizik and Co. will not come up with a good game plan and our players will not execute. I'm a little confused as to how you can predict a 28 point loss but still see us winning it. ...just giving you a hard time, I think I understand what you're getting at.

My prediction:
ISU 30
Tech 28

Just to clarify....

If the interceptions at horrible times continue, as well as the special teams problems, we don't stand a chance. I think the coaches will have a good gameplan, as always, but, as we have seen, the team hasn't quite taken advantage of every opportunity we've had. If we can fix these problems, we could beat Tech. While I'm not expecting a W this time, I just wouldn't be shocked by one either.
