Phillip Bates = Seneca Wallace?
Remember, Seneca came from JC and PB's still a freshman.
As much as I love Seneca Wallace, we as ISU fans need to realize there won't be another Seneca. Could Phillip Bates or Jerome Tiller be the next highly elusive, mobile QB that leads this ISU football program upwards? yes. But we want someone to be the QB of our team who will be referenced to in the future when talking about even more QB's as "the next ____________(insert name)."
Good to hear Seattle is not just gonna utilize Wallace on the bench. He deserves to start SOMEWHERE on the field for SOMEONE in the NFL. I wish him the best of luck and will always root for him. I wish my Cowboys would pick him up along with Ellis Hobbs.
The Bears could use a QB right now, and having one that could actually run might do wonders for that terrible offense.
I agree with melt. I wish he was wearing a Bear's uniform. How have the Bears went so long with this level of quarterbacks?
Contrary to most opinions about him, I think Seneca can be a much better WR than a starting QB. If he had the right receivers he would have a chance at the QB spot but I think he could be one of the elite WRs in the league.
I just think it's a shame that he has been in the league so long and has been used so little. He could be succesful anywhere.
If Wallace could actually be an elite receiver in the league, even though he's a back-up QB - he'd still be on the field at receiver more.
I think that "elite receiver" stuff we're hearing from Seattle is lip service. No coach would have a guy on the sidelines that is better than some of the guys on the field.
Do I think Wallace could be a good/great #2/#3 receiver? Sure.
I have no doubt he could be a GREAT receiver. I think they truly had no decent backup QB and was forced to keep him on the sidelines.
Lip Service only goes so far in the NFL and I don't think you'd see the constant hype for so long about him being a great WR if it wasn't something he was capable of. With his speed, size and knowledge, there's not doubt in my mind he could be great at the WR spot, especially in Seattle's system.
Seneca would be money in the bank for Carolina, Miami, New Orleans, anmd a few other teams. Maybe Seattle does not ewant to let a nother team get better by trading him. Sounds crazy but there are some real dud qb situations out there right now. Look at the Bears.
