OK, I counted at least four, probably more, new threads in only the past few days picking on Gene Chizik big time. So, let's get right down to it: should we fire him or not? Keep in mind that, at this point, firing him would likely totally bankrupt the entire ISU sports program -- basketball included -- and would likely result in no good coach worth his salt getting anywhere near Ames for about the next 40 years.
(BTW, I personally do not think we should fire him. I blame Dan McCarney for all of our problems. These are his players, and the result of his coaching and training. If the five-man offensive line can't block a 3-man rush, that's DMac's fault)

Anyone that actually wants to fire GC, should be in favor of sh*t canning our entire FB program.
Will GC be the answer???? I have no idea. Does he at least deserve a legitimate shot at turning it around??? Absolutely.

It's absolutely crazy to even have this as a topic. The ONLY way Chizik should be fired is if Coach Lombardi rises from the dead to coach this team with Parcells, Ditka, Bellechic, Spurrier, and Jimmie Johnson as assistant coaches. That is the ONLY way. Give Chizik a chance!!!! In 3 or 4 years if there is still no improvement then you can maybe post this but it's stupid to do this now!

Ask a silly question get a silly answer. Yeah let's fire him, and hire captain Kirk, I think he will be looking for a new job soon.
Back to reality... I mean COME ON! You have to give him 4 years at least before you can even consider wether or not he is any good. Rome was not built in a day, and neither was any successful college football team.
