Homan on the Bulls
Just saw Jared Homan playing in the preseason game for the Bulls. He is just getting garbage time. He looks kinda lost out there but at least he hustles and runs the court. I don't think he'll make the roster with all the big guys the Bulls have.

Re: Homan on the Bulls
I love Jared, but he's not an NBA player. He's a little undersized and doesn't have any specific skill to offset that at the next level. Toughness only takes you so far against the likes of Jermaine O'Neal, Elton Brand, Kevin Garnett, etc.
I figured the Bulls signed him to their training camp roster because they worked out some deal with the Iowa Energy since they are affiliated. It'd be nice to see Jared playing in Des Moines but unless there's some money under the table I can't see him sticking around.

However unlikely, I really hope he will get an opportunity in the NBA at some point.

I hope he comes to Europe and makes some money. Then returns to Iowa and does whatever he wants.

Re: Homan on the Bulls
LOVED watching Homan, he played physical and hard the entire time he was in the game. I wish him nothing but the best! Keep workin and maybe you'll get to play in the NBA regularly...OR you could do just enough to stay on the bench and becoming a really interesting writer, either way: REP ISU 4-EVA!

Re: Homan on the Bulls
First off how is 6-10 250 undersized? That's pretty good size for an NBA PF these days.
I didn't get to watch the game but my roommate thought it looked like Homan had gained a little weight and it wasn't the the good kind of weight. Hopefully I'll catch another game on TV soon and see for myself if he knows what he is talking about.
I doubt Homan ends up in Iowa unless they have a nice financial deal worked out. He'd make a lot more overseas than in the D-League. That's the D-League's biggest problem right now is low pay for the players compared to what they could make overseas.

There are very few TRUE centers any more and the ones that are are all over 7 feet. At 6-10 you have to be able to extend the defense and hit a jumper, pass and most of all be able to guard MUCH quicker guys. I don't know how much his game has developed but I am sure we can all admit that he can't hit anything outside 8 feet, isnt the quickest guy, and certainly not a passer.
