Best Conferences as of mid-season?
After all of the upsets this last couple weeks, I'm just curious what conference everyone thinks is the best?

I'm gonna have to go with the SEC on that one

SEC, far and away...
That is part of the reason I am excited about Chizik being the new coach. Hopefully he still has recruiting ties down there in SEC territory and can get some of that talent to come north of the Mason-Dixon Line.....

Ha, just curious: can you actually change a poll to public without restarting it?

Re: Best Conferences as of mid-season?
Its not as obvious as you might think. The SEC and Big XII performance to this point has been very similar. And the SEC appears to have an aversion to playing non conference road games, since they've only played 5 this year (and went 3-2), versus 27 home games (and went 25-2).

4. ACC
5. Big East

Actually, it is very obvious...the SEC is far superior to the Big 12 right now in FB...far superior.
And you are right...most of the schools in the SEC do not like to play road games in non-conference for two reasons:
1) Most of the schools have a packed house of 85,000 plus fans for home games...that is major money.
2) They are going to have to play some very tough road games during the SEC season...there are no patsies in the SEC.
In fact, I think you could pick the weakest SEC team and they would probably challenge for the Big 12 North title.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.
