Back at ISU almost 10 years ago now I was trying to set up an AOL IM name that I liked.

jdogg was my nickname back in high school (my friends and I were heavily into rap back then and J-Dogg was my "rapper" name - I've since mostly grown out of that phase) and it's just stuck with me.

ivjc is the tricky part (and the part most nobody gets). JC stands for Jesus ****** (I am a Christian, if anyone here didn't already know that), and jdogg4JC was already taken on AOL IM. This is where my creative mind gets the best of me. Only the people with the mind that I have would even consider changing the 4 to the roman numeral IV, therefore making it jdoggIVJC. As time has passed and I've gotten lazier and lazier, the name has de-evolved into all small letters to jdoggivjc.

Could I have and should I have picked something simpler? Probably. The thing is, this has been the username I have used for virtually EVERYTHING online (my AOL e-mail, my Hotmail/msn/X-BOX Live account, website logons, etc.) since I devised it, and it's just easier to continue using it because I know no one else on the planet is as insane as I am to come up with such a complicated username that it'll just be available for virtually anything I sign up for online (jtkatch would probably have been available, which is short for Jason Tkatch, but isn't it bad enough that I have to explain my last name to everyone on a daily basis?).

Anyway, that's the long and complicated story behind jdoggivjc that, after reading it, no one probably wanted to hear

At ISU, one of my fraternity brothers dubbed me "Red Ned" (which is short for "Red Ned the Pxxxxxhead"), which evolved into the more sophisticated Nedrick.

BTW, my original nickname in college was "Boris" because one of the girls on my sister floor thought I looked like Boris Becker...

All I wanted was a picture of me punching it. The funny part is you can see the guy trying to hand me the marker. He was ****** when he figured out I was a fan of the good guys.
