The possibility of sex with robots could prove a mixed bag for humanity. For instance, robot sex could provide an outlet for criminal sexual urges. "If you have pedophiles and you let them use a robotic child, will that reduce the incidence of them abusing real children, or will it increase it?" Arkin asked. "I don't think anyone has the answers for that yet — that's where future research needs to be done." Um, absolutely not. How about we tell them they can do that, then hook it up to about 30,000 volts?

Seriously, this makes Matt Groening look like Nostrodamus if/when this would happen.

When you get right down to it though, really, what's the difference between a robot and Farva's blow-up doll with "Ursula" scribbled all over it? Maybe 100 lbs and a monotone voice that says "I want you. I need you. Oh baby. Oh baby."
Not that I condone relations with blow-up dolls or robots, I find both rather disturbing. But when you get right down to it - what's the difference?

The difference in my mind comes down to the love part.......they seem to say in the article that emotional love could be part of it. I suppose, in a really warped, creepy, you are a disturbed MFer kind of way, it theoretically could be possible.
