Turnovers - What can we Do?
Two more pass interceptions and a fumble to none for them. We almost ran the same number of plays and we won the possession time stat. Some things never change.
What can the coaches do?
New qb?
Throw more screen passes and shovel passes? Some actual fakes then throw to the opposite side. Actually saw Bret do one fake today.
Re: Turnovers - What can we Do?
I don't know, but ISU needs to do something. From what I saw, the playcalling wasn't the issue. How many times did Meyer underthrow/overthrow open receivers today? I don't want to pin the **** poor performance we saw today entirely on our QB's shoulders, but there were a few passes that he should have connected with.
And time of possession? IMO, that stat is fairly worthless. The only reason we beat Texas there was because they were in the endzone in six plays or less on most drives.
Re: Turnovers - What can we Do?
Trick plays every down. That pass from blythe to meyer worked pretty well. we should probably institue the quick kick for our hopeless 3rd and long situations.
Re: Turnovers - What can we Do?
We were down 35-3 when we turned the ball over for the first time against Texas. Turnovers have been a problem this year, but they weren't the big problem Saturday.
Re: Turnovers - What can we Do?
STOP STARING DOWN RECEIVERS he looks at a guy the whole route, then it gets jumped for a pick, look a corner or safety off
Re: Turnovers - What can we Do?
I honestly feel those turnovers were of desperation more than anything. In the other games ISU was still in them but failed to keep the ball in their posession to get points out of it. These turnovers yesterday was an effort to just get something happening. I really thought we did better on turnovers yesterday up to the point where it seemed the that the team still cared about the game. After that, I have no comment.
