I mean, c'mon - this has been discussed ever since the Big 12 was formed, that eventually we'd leave.

I'm not at all opposed to going to the Big 10 as I once was. Better TV deal, better chance for wins, etc. The only thing holding me back from that attitude is, when we win, I want it to be against the best - not an over-hyped Big 10 - which is exactly what that conference is right now.

But these "rumblings" are nothing more than rumors without much merit. If/when it happens or we hear about it from our AD - then I'll put some credibility to it.

I heard rumors that ISUFan22 is also going to be our next president.

Seriously why start a post or thread unless you have a bit more info or insight or even source of where or when or how you heard it.

We are not going to the Big 10. They wouldn't want us specially since we don't have a huge fanbase.

So.... What other conference? The MAC??? The Gateway???

We are where we are and will stay there until we have to make our own personal decision. I don't see us going to another big boy conference. I see us down grading if anything.

Remember for the last 8 years now Colorado was going to the Pac 10... How's that going for them??? Oh and Arkansas was joinin the Big 12...

If ISU changes Conferences it will be something like the Mountian West or Conference USA etc...At least we would be on TV in those conferences.

I don't believe those rumors until they come from the mouth of Jamie Pollard himself. And the day ISU leaves the Big 12, is the day I have to reconsider being a fan. The only reason for us to leave the Big 12 is because we have deemed it to be too hard.

We are in a BCS conference. Dropping to the Mountain West or Conference USA would be stupid.

ISU won't be leaving the Big 12, good lord. People outside of ISU look at this too much as a football issue, when there are plenty of other sports we're competitive in.

Um, any rumblings are pretty much ********. I mean, I'm sure that conferences kick out members all the time after a conference team has a 1-6 start to the season and is competitive in most other sports.

We're not leaving the Big 12 unless we choose to, and the only way that would happen is if it benefitted us financially, which would only probably happen in a move to the Big Ten, which wouldn't happen.

Again, to sum it up, ********.

More than that. FB is the only sport where we seem to have continual futility. We traditionally have been more than competitive in men's & women's basketball - and with mbb, I think most believe Mac will be very successful at ISU. Wrestling speaks for itself. Volleyball is on the rise. Gymnastics has been tops recently. We have tradition in track and cross country, although it will be tough to compete with the south schools going forward. From what I see women's soccer is doing well. So where are we lacking otherwise? Golf and swimming?

We aren't going Big 10. Dropping to a lower tier conference would probably be worth about 5-10K automatic loss in season tickets, fundraising, etc. There just won't be the same support.
