Proud of Chizik!

If any of you didn't either hear or see this weeks press conference with Coach Chizik, I urge you to do so. He did us proud. This is a stand up guy who makes no excuses. If you don't think he knows football, just watch him. I understand why JP chose him and why he is so high on him. Chizik is a class act. If you don't believe in the future of Iowa State football after seeing him, I don't know what you can believe in. This guy is a man...

Was this the conference where Chizik recounted how he told Mack Brown he loved him and Mack told him he loved him too? ....

I got a kick out of that. It's great they are great friends enough to say that. That can only help us I guess.

I thought it was a classy conference too. It's good he has so much respect with Texas after leaving.

No, this was the pre Oklahoma confenence posted today...he was on his game. It's on clonezone and cyclone report. I'd like to see it posted for free as everyone needs to hear and see it.

I listened to the call in show tonight and Chizik is very classy. i really enjoyed listening to it.

I just watched it and I agree. This was great, especially the joke about taking the team out for bowling and to the water park instead of practicing. He was just straight up and blunt about not having a great team right now.

This presser was a breath of fresh air. It's nice to not have a bunch of hot air blown up our skirt. Try the Cr free presser. Dont know if it works, but i liked what i heard on teh CloneZone

I guess I assumed it was a joke...but maybe he is taking them out instead of practicing. I just thought that he would think they needed to practice...who knows...

I thought that that press conference was the most candid that Chizik has been yet which is great. And that is not to say that he hasn't been candid prior to this press conference because he certainly was. He was just blunt and to the point about our football game. Not negative, but realistic. He also stated that he would not want to be anywhere other than Ames, Iowa. He is a goals-driven man who will not bail until he gets the job done. Rest assured, results are coming.

I didn't agree with the opening comment about 'making plays' then making an example out of Blythe not catching the fade. UT scored 9 touchdowns on us and it seems that most of the making plays needs to be on the defense and the lack of talent.

Solid news conference. He says it like it is and doen't try to put much spin on it. I loved the quote when he was talking about Oklahoma and said they were so good it was like chosing between having an eye poked out or to cut a hand off.

I remember seeing him toward the end of the Texas game after hope was gone. He hadn't lost his cool at all. He's one cool customer.

I do hope he can turn it around, but unfortunatly I've said that about a lot of our coaches. DMac got as close as anyone since I've been watching.
