Well done good sir.
Actually, my arguments are well documented on this site. I am just too tired to go back through them again.
And the Hawk thing was to point out the irony that it was opponents that wanted us to keep ol Dan.

Hey, this thread reminds me of another thread....
Oh, yeah... Every thread that Darts has ever been involved with.

I thought that Mac could get us a North championship.

Not everyone, just the ones that the Mac lovers want to talk about his "accomplishments."
You know "he did so much for us, we weren't worthy of" like he actually won something. Then you point out the facts of his tenure, and you aren't as good of a fan as they are (like last year with you, until you turned on him).

I am not a Mac lover.

Not you specifically, sir, but many on here.
It's like he did something incredible, which he didn't, you point that out, and well you just aren't as good of a fan as they are, and an "idiot" (right 31), or my personal favorite when a Mod told me that I don't know football and he did, and whatever else.
There are a lot of company men on here. It's OK, no need to feel threatened by differing views.

I'm ready for basketball season so I can get darts all worked up about Wayne Morgan again.

Nah, Wayne proved that you can just take your payout, and not go begging for any and every job out there. Dignity has to be maintained, right?
Re: It really sucks that the B12N doesn't stink anymore
Looks like our remaining games are all against top 30 caliber teams needing a win to go to bowls. Looks like they will be motivated. Will we?
Need more enthusiasm from the players and less waddling around letting someone else make the plays. Need leadership in all phases of the game. Need to get smarter on field presence. Need to play each play like it is the last play. Need Todd and Bret and JJ and rest to pull out of the abyss and play bigger. That is all.

[QUOTE=SouthernHawk;211794]Mac brought a lot to a program that was not much for years. The fact that people miss him is expected, not to mention his absolute love and dedication to the university. He built a respectable program in the Big12 - he deserves respect.

If he built such a respectable program in the Big 12, why are there so many threads on this site complaining that our logo isn't recognized on a national basis. Heck, I have encountered plenty of people around the midwest that can't keep us straight with Iowa or Ohio State or that place that grows potatos. Yeah, Danno sure put us on the map. Heck, Baylor looks at their schedule for next season and pencils us in for a W.

Sorry, but Mac brought your first bowl win, wins against Iowa (which you hadn't seen in 15 years), winning seasons, sold out stadiums, and at least respect for the most part.
It's not his fault that the state of Iowa is confused with Ohio or Idaho.

I'm trying really hard, but I can't for the life of me recall any posts in the last 8 months or so that say anything close to bragging up Mac's accomplishments or saying that "we weren't worthy" of him on this site. I think that you imagine these things when somebody mentions his name. I'd like to see just a couple of these kinds of posts that you claim are what you are responding to.

Mac did a lot of good things for ISU. I'll be the first admit that. But his accomplishments are completely overblown by his supporters and his failures are completely overblown by his detractors. Regardless it's water under the bridge and the only thing that bothers me is people like Darts keep bringing it up. We're well aware of his shortcomings, all 1,855 of your posts have reminded us of them. I was present for both the Mizzou and Kansas games. I don't need to relive them in every football thread.

Were you on here last Fall sir???
They were all over the place, especially early in the season, when we were "winning." Then when it became apparent that JP was bringing the hammer, ode after ode for Phoenix ( a real destination), Shreveport, Boise, it was like losing a close family member for some of these folks. Then the "I hope your happy, look what you've done, Mac is gone" stuff was also fun.:spinny::spinny::spinny::spinny::spinny::no:

Then maybe their shouldn't be Mac threads EVERYDAY, huh???
Especially ones telling us to become South Florida fans, HUH????
