Cyclones in HDTV on WOI??

I know the games on WOI will be broadcast on thier HD channel but I'm wondering if they'll truly be HD? If I'm correct in my understanding they'll only be in HD if the camera's used are HD.

So does anyone know if we'll truly see bball game in HD this year? Wait...actually we should know this answer from last year.

Anyone?

I guess that would depend on who actually produces the games, and whether that company has HD broadcast equipment in place.

Hec, you can get a Sony 1080i HD camcorder for under $1000. It shouldn't take too much more than that to broadcast a BB game...

No, they won't be in HD. Ch5 does not have the capability of broadcasting local stuff in HD. Otherwise they would at least do their news in HD.

I think the cameras they use for this are a little more than $1000. Pro grade HD stuff is pretty expensive still.

ISU vs KU was in HD last year. I think the Texas game was also. And I have actually seen an ISU football game in HD before. Have there been any football games in HD in the last few years?

The fact nobody does their news in HD surprises me. They need to catch up with the times. Channel 13 should do their news in HD and put some heat on KCCI.

Well, it's the latest fad down here...most everybody is doing their local news in HD now, including the independents.

I can't get channel 5 in HD down here anyway. Not a strong enough signal for a little antenna like I have.

Outdoor antenna, best $50 you will ever spend. Except for that night in bangcock.

8 and 13 aren't in HD for the news? I'd swear they. I can pick up every fricking dimple and blemish on their faces.

That was my thought that 5 doesn't have the HD equip at the games.

The only two football games in HD i remember watching was last year against Iowa and the 2005 Houston Bowl. Dont recall any others off hand.

Our losses would be a whole lot better if we could see them in crystal clarity. =) I love the miracle of HD

Harriet Michaels: Do you actually like haggis?
Charlie Mackenzie: No, I think it's repellent in every way. In fact, I think most Scottish cuisine is based on a dare.

The first HD game for ISU was 4 years ago against Texas.

The newscasts on 8 and 13 are digital, hence the clearer pictures, but not HD. Relatively few local news channels in the country have the ability to broadcast their news and locally-produced programming in HD. More are coming online though, particularly in larger markets.

As far as our games, it it's being televised nationally (ESPN, ABC, FSN, VS, etc.) it's probably in HD. If it's a local thing (CTN/Big 12 basketball package), it's probably not.
