Tom Osborne to be AD at NU
KXNO just announced that Tom will be serving as Athletic Director at Nebraska. It was not comfirmed if he is just an intermim or permanent.
My guess is he'll be there til someone else gets their feet wet.

No, I meant he'll serve as the guy to train the next AD.

Osbourne will be the interm AD according to ESPN, until they can find someone and they fire... I mean evaluate Callahan after the season. Besides I think Tom wants to run for governor of Neb. -

Re: Tom Osborne to be AD at NU
So what about the rumor of just renaming the state "Osborneaska"? Or changing Omaha to "Osborneaha"? -

I am going to take some hits for this but TO is a person of great morals and is very humble. I have seen him speak many times and he is truly a good guy. TO will have a sit down with cally and then evaluate. if you caught cally Presser today he looked like a guy on the way out. My inlaws live in Omaha and were at a grocery store when someone came in and announced to the store Pederson had been canned. Many people were cheering in the store.
I think folks are making fun of how fans reguard him as god himself

Re: Tom Osborne to be AD at NU
Everytime Osbourn passes Calahan in the Hallway at Nebraska it sounds like this.
Tom: Hey Bill
Bill: what
Tom: I won 3 national titles, Have you won the big 12 north yet?
Bill: Yeah once
Tom: Hey Bill
Bill: What
Tom: Congrats on the Iowa State Win. I thought we were screwed when they went up 10-0 in Memorial Stadium.
Bill: Yeah whatever man
Tom: So we don't have to play OSU again this year do we?
Bill: Screw you Tom

It will be fun to watch the aTm game this weekend. Callahan to me is just like KF, I want him to do well enough that they don't fire him, but not well enough to be any good. They are both doing bang up jobs being Dan McCarney.

My sister was an athlete during his tenure there. I have a very different perspective of the man.
Funny story - not long after the aforementioned events, I was was in western Iowa and talking to a Husker fan. (Understand I have a good deal of respect for NU athletics on the whole) Anyway this guy said something similar to what was said above. "he's a good Christian" came out of this fellas mouth. I retorted with what had happened and how he could reinstate such a player.
The reponse from this guy "well, she shouldn't have been messing around with him anyway".
I managed to just walk away without smacking the guy.
