Gotta love Nebraska being on the Bottom 10 right along with us.

I'm sure we'll move up a couple notches before it's all said and done.

Re: #8 on ESPN's Bottom 10
I can't argue we deserve to be there, but it's hard to believe we're on the list and Minnesota isn't. Even though we both have the same record, I would still rather be in our place. Our win was against Iowa. Minny's was against Miami of Ohio in OT. Minny also plays North Dakota State this weekend (who is in their third year as a IAA school (or whatever it's called now), switching from Division II) & I would bet $100 that NDSU will smoke the Gophers!

Don't worry. If Iowa fails to make it to 6 wins this year, and it's not a gimmie they will, ESPN will make sure they are right there with us. Pink logo and all just like last year.

Re: #8 on ESPN's Bottom 10
I guess I've always had a problem with these polls. (OK, Mr. Sensative to everything written in the paper or on the web) All we preach on here is that it takes time, we've got to rebuild, don't expect instant success. Yet, something like the Bottom 10, all it does is feed the instant success attitude. It's mostly a chance for someone to pick on schools in rebuilding mode. Granted, I guess maybe NU deserved this list as their rebuilding days should be over. But honestly, to pick on teams like Florida International, Utah State, or even us, really isn't fair. None of these teams have ever had top tier programs. It's not like we've fallen from Mount Olympus or anything. For the most part these teams have never been very good. Why the hell isn't Notre Dame on that list. your're telling me that our lack of improvement is more deserving than the drop from gifted BCS bowls that ND has taken? We were bad last year, we knew we weren't going to be any better this year. Yet ND gives their 3rd year coach and extension through the rest of his life basically and their record is no better than ours. "Here, I have an idea, let's take a bunch of bad teams and add a little salt to their wounds.
Seriously, where is Notre Dame? If you ask me. With what they think they are and what they really are. They get my vote for #1.

But they are REALLY, REALLY bad so they need to be included on this list. I am on the bandwagon to vote them for #1 (bandwagon is the word of the day.)

Re: #8 on ESPN's Bottom 10
Notre Dame was on the list for a while earlier this season, but I haven't paid attention to the list in a few weeks. I think they haven't been on since beating UCLA, plus they didn't lose very badly to BC, the allegedly #3 best team in the country.

I see your point, but, again, ND is a team that wasn't expected to be losing, at least this much. And at least by their fans, not at all. On the other hand. I don't think anyone expected FIU, Utah ST. Or ISU to be Bowl bound this year, let alone BCS. I guess what I'm trying to say with these polls is that it's easy to pick on the bad teams. When in reality this should be for teams falling below their perceived potential. i.e. ND, Nebraska, etc.
Maybe it's that I'm getting tired of being made fun of all the time. I still wear my colors proudly. (Hell, you'd think over 30 years of this would have toughened me up a little) But, we're losing and losing badly. I can live with that. I am getting tired of being mocked for it as well.

Re: #8 on ESPN's Bottom 10
I'm entertained by the fact that Nebraska is higher on the list than we are, despite the fact that they have more wins than any other team on that list (actually... they almost have more wins than the rest of the list combined)
Must suck to be a Husker fan today
Now how about them Cyclones?? Oh wait... Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!!! In Accordance with Prophecy
