Jack Elway
Anyone really know if we are in his top 4 or not? On rivals we're not listed as one of his schools. I know on Sportscenter they said we were in the running. Anyone have some info on that?

Re: Jack Elway
I think our chances are very slim to none. I've been hearing that Stanford and Arizona State are in the lead. It will be tough to top either of those teams. Plus we have quite a few QBs in this class already and then you throw in Bates and Arnaud.

Re: Jack Elway
not gonna happen, we already have 2 verbals at QB: Josh Johnson & Tiller. He is likely to stay out west at ASU or Stanford.

Re: Jack Elway
THIS ISN'T GOING TO HAPPEN. We offered him, he didn't respond, period.
Look for him in the PAC 10.

Re: Jack Elway
ESPN is saying we are in the top five, and whats-his-name-recruiting guru said in an article linked on here the other day that Iowa State had a chance. -
Re: Jack Elway
Chances I will play QB for ISU = Chances Elway will play QB for ISU

Re: Jack Elway
I haven't looked a lot up on Elway. Is he any good, really? Or is it a lot of Hype around his daddy's name? What I see is 2 or 3 stars. And with accuracy being his big weakness, I'm not all that excited. If anyone has any other insight on him. I would welcome hearing about it.
I think it would be awesome to have the name and some of Daddy's money coming here to Ames. On the other hand. I get flashes of Chris Simms. Who, imho, benefited from being on a good team a lot more than the team benefited from him being on the team.

Re: Jack Elway
What bad can come of getting Elway? I don't care if we have 30 qbs, you still take him if you can get him (publicity, etc.). I hate Favre more than any other professional sports figure but if his son wanted to come here I would be ****** if we didn't accept him just because we were already full at his position (probably longsnapper).

Re: Jack Elway
ESPN's recruiting news is as poor as it gets. ISU offered this kid a long time ago. He showed little to no interest. Since then we have received a verbal from 2 other QB's. We are not going after him anymore. Look for him to go out west

Re: Jack Elway
I don't agree with the statement that we take whomever if they have a big name attached. I don't want any chance of that name dictating who is out there on the field. I want kids who are the best qualified to play football. At the very least I don't want to waste a scholarship on a name and not a player. I think each would have to be an individual evaluation. Name alone does not make a football team.

Re: Jack Elway
If he is watching us on TV, if he is inaccurate throwing, it should not be a problem...we are used to it.
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style. -
Re: Jack Elway
His weaknesses are being addressed this season by one of the greatest QBs to ever play the game. I am not sure how good of a coach he is but I would love to have Jack here.

Re: Jack Elway
My question is:
Why? ...are we even on his radar?

Re: Jack Elway
Like I've said before, if he's an Elway he'd be better off going to EIU. They've got the dental school.
What ever happened to truth, justice and the American Way?
